After many long days without power, it’s so good to see Grindhouse Cafe Grindhouse Cafe back open! 🙌

The past week has been a reminder of just how much our community can come together when times get tough. From the first responders and utility crews working around the clock, to local businesses and neighbors supporting one another—we truly are all in this together.

I’m especially happy to be back at Grindhouse Cafe next week and getting back to what I love—helping people learn the skills that can save a life. ❤️

❤️ Our Community Showing Up for Each Other ❤️

During these difficult days of widespread power outages, I’ve seen something that deserves to be recognized — people stepping up to help people.

A huge thank you to our first responders, utility workers, community leaders, local businesses, restaurants, and countless volunteers who have been working hard to help our community get back on its feet.

From providing food and essential services to checking on neighbors and helping those in need, you are making a difference. These are the moments that remind us what community is really about.

To everyone working behind the scenes, putting in long hours, opening your doors, lending a helping hand, or simply asking a neighbor, “Are you okay?” — THANK YOU. 🙏

As a member of this community and as Safety Dave CPR, I’m proud to see so many people coming together and looking out for one another.

When Safety Comes First ❤️

Good morning, everyone. I wanted to take a moment to give everyone an update regarding today’s CPR class.

Unfortunately, the severe storms and widespread power outages in our community have made it impossible for me to safely hold today’s class. I’ve already reached out directly to everyone who was registered, but I also wanted to share the update here.

Most importantly, I want to say THANK YOU to all of the first responders, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, utility crews, and everyone else working around the clock to help our communities recover. And a special thank-you to the school staff and administrators who are working through the challenges these storms have created. Your dedication does not go unnoticed. ❤️

I know everyone has busy schedules, and I truly appreciate your understanding as we put safety first.

I will be announcing the rescheduled date for today’s class as soon as it is confirmed, and I’ll make sure everyone who was registered gets the information.

Please stay safe, check on your neighbors, and take care of one another.

❤️ **This one was a little extra special for Grandpa.** ❤️

Today I had the opportunity to make a safety video with my beautiful **one-year-old granddaughter**—and demonstrate something every parent, grandparent, caregiver, and family member should know: **how to respond if an infant is choking.**

As a paramedic and CPR instructor, I’ve taught these skills to countless people over the years. But practicing them with my own granddaughter made the importance of this knowledge hit a little differently.

When it’s your child or grandchild, there’s no time to panic and no time to wonder what to do.

You need to **KNOW.**

My hope with this video is simple: that it reaches even one parent, grandparent, babysitter, or caregiver who takes a few minutes to learn these lifesaving skills.

Because emergencies don't make appointments. They happen when we least expect them.

❤️ **Learn CPR. Learn choking response. Be prepared. You never know whose life you may be able to save.**

And yes… Grandpa may be a little biased, but I think my little assistant did an AMAZING job! 😊👶❤️
