There is something undeniably medicinal and transformational within jungles, forests, meadows, rivers, and untouched natural habitats.

I have spent countless hours living, exploring, recording, and learning within these environments across the world. Over time, it becomes clear that nature’s effect on the human condition does not require validation to be felt — only presence, stillness, and attention.

Science may help us better understand these relationships, but perhaps more importantly, it can help humanity recognize the urgency of preserving the ecosystems that sustain all life on Earth.

This is my mission with Explorers with Recorders™/Audio Pharmacology™️ and are the foundations of the formation of the Nature Sounds Society.

Did you know we often go 18–20 hours without food when deployed in the field? This isn’t my typical schedule when recording abroad, but here in California we travel light to reduce backpack weight and avoid attracting wildlife near our campsites.

My AURI system in the second photo is capturing distant panoramic forest textures, while my portable Zoom rig mounted to the pack is recording creek soundscapes nearby. I’ve also deployed multiple drop rigs throughout the area to capture the surrounding ecosystem from different acoustic perspectives.

Last year, I became the first Afri-Native American to curate an immersive restorative sound frequency experience at the prestigious Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

My work in sound science, therapeutic acoustics, and research is informed by ethnomedical traditions and independent field study across Kemet (Ancient Egypt), Asia, East Africa, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. I have lived and conducted independent study throughout each of these regions, with the exception of modern Egypt.

I look forward to the continued integration of Audio Pharmacology™ into allopathic and Western medical environments as part of the evolving future of integrative wellness and nervous system care.
