For 50 years, the warnings have been ignored...
'Do not enter ear canal.' That's on every box of cotton swab sold in America."
"It's been there since the 1970s. Over fifty years of warnings. And somehow this is still the most common thing people do with them. Every morning. Right after the shower. Without even thinking about it."
You're getting maybe 10% of the earwax near the entrance. The other 90%? You just pushed it deeper. And if you’re doing this every day it eventually becomes compacted right against your eardrum. Let’s also hope the cotton tip doesn’t break off, which is something I see frequently at our clinic.
"The company that makes them is literally telling you not to do this. They've been printing it on the box for fifty years. Maybe it's time we start listening. Share this with someone who hasn't read the back of the box."
