At Medrina, we believe our role extends beyond seeing patients.

We partner with skilled nursing facilities to build programs that improve quality, elevate clinical standards, and create better outcomes for the patients we collectively serve.

Today, we are proud to celebrate one example of that partnership.

Working alongside North Shore Healthcare and the American Heart Association, we helped develop and implement a stroke rehabilitation program that resulted in Wisconsin's first American Heart Association Skilled Nursing Facility Stroke Rehabilitation Certification.

This achievement reflects what can happen when facility leadership, nursing, therapy, administration, and physician leadership work together toward a common goal.

By combining evidence-based protocols, interdisciplinary collaboration, provider education, quality metrics, and rehabilitation-focused clinical leadership, we can create programs that meaningfully improve care for patients recovering from stroke.

We are grateful to our partners at North Shore Healthcare for their commitment to innovation and clinical excellence. We believe specialty programs such as stroke rehabilitation represent an important opportunity to bring evidence-based, rehabilitation-focused care to more patients across the post-acute continuum.

Recently, Medrina had the privilege of participating in the AMA Insight Network Summit alongside health system executives, physician leaders, and healthcare innovators from across the country.

Dr. Matthew Cowling, Chief Clinical Officer, and Dr. Sandeep Pulimi, Regional Physician Leader, presented "Closing the Recovery Gap: A Physician-Led Model for Systemwide Functional Recovery and Transitions of Care," highlighting the critical role physician leadership plays during the recovery phase following hospitalization.

The discussion focused on functional recovery as a longitudinal medical outcome, not simply a post-discharge byproduct and explored how physician-led care models, recovery analytics, interdisciplinary collaboration, and proactive care coordination can strengthen recovery trajectories, help prevent avoidable readmissions, and support better patient outcomes.

Thank you to the American Medical Association and the Insight Network leadership for bringing together such an engaged group of healthcare leaders dedicated to advancing the future of patient care.
