The posterolateral corner in all its glory! The PLC is comprised of the three major lateral stabilizers of the knee: the fibular collateral ligament (FCL), the popliteus tendon (PT), and the popliteofibular ligament (PFL).

Up to 20% of patients with ACL injuries demonstrate concomitant injury to this complex, so understanding the diagnosis and treatment of PLC injuries is crucial for ACL surgeons, as missed PLC injuries are a key cause of ACLR failure.

Meet Mary Kate another one of our amazing physician assistant!

🌟 "The journey to becoming a PA was guided by inspiring mentors and a deep desire to make my corner of the world better. 🌎💪 My teachers urged us to make a positive impact, and the PA profession offered that path. Today, I'm still inspired by the resilience and success of my patients. 🙌❤️

My favorite part of being a PA? The connections I share with patients, their smiles when they return to what they love, and the endless learning. 🤝📚 I'm fortunate to be part of a dynamic team that pushes boundaries and exceeds expectations. 🚀

Outside of my PA role, I'm an explorer at heart, discovering new spots in the city, savoring meals at restaurants, and itching to travel again. 🌆🍽️✈️ I thrive on adventure, whether it's running by the lake, kayaking, or cheering for the Cubs and Fighting Irish. ⚾🏃‍♂️

In honor of physician assistant week. Meet Taylor one of our incredible physicians assistant and a little about her:

🌟 “The journey to becoming a PA was sparked by witnessing the incredible impact they have on patients’ lives. As an athletic trainer in a clinical setting, I saw their wealth of knowledge and their amazing ability to work as a team to make a real difference. 🩺🤝

My favorite part of being a PA? Being a part of our patients’ recovery journeys. The moment a diagnosis hits can be crushing but helping them return to their beloved sports and activities is immensely rewarding. 🏋️‍♂️🎾

Outside of the PA world, I’m all about staying active – running, playing soccer with an awesome team, and exploring the world as a foodie and traveler. 🏃‍♀️⚽🌍

For aspiring PAs, my advice is simple: stay hungry for knowledge, seize every learning opportunity, and connect with as many PAs as you can. We all have unique paths that led us here. 📚🤓
