“I don’t care who does it. All injectors are the same.”

I hear some version of this statement constantly, often while I’m quietly repairing someone else’s work.

Migrated lips. Lumpy filler. Vascular occlusions. Hyaluron pen complications. Dropped eyelids. Crooked smiles. Poor placement. Overfilling. The list goes on.

Injectors are not all the same.

A syringe is simply a tool. The outcome depends on the person holding it: their education, anatomy knowledge, technique, aesthetic eye, experience, judgment, and ability to recognize and manage complications when something goes wrong.

And to be very clear, the client pictured did NOT say this. In fact, her previous treatment was performed by a physician.

She came to me needing correction. Three vials of Hylenex and three appointments later, we were finally able to get her back to baseline.

Credentials matter. Training matters. Experience matters. But the letters after someone’s name alone don’t guarantee beautiful, safe work.
