Today's the day! 🎅🎄

The Treasure Hunt is back and bigger than ever with over 30 participating businesses and 50 prizes. An annual tradition since 1933, the hunt was brought back by The Red River Sun and Childress Downtown Historical Association after a four-year hiatus.

Treasure Hunt tickets will be handed out from 3-5 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 29 in front of The Red River Sun, 226 N. Main St., with help from the Childress County Heritage Museum. Each ticket will contain a number. Winning numbers will correspond to placards, placed in participating businesses. Winning tickets can be redeemed for gifts, provided by the participating businesses.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to win this year’s giveaway, a Hisense 50” R6 Series 4K UHD Roku Smart TV. Change of plans—enter-to-win tickets can be submitted beginning at 3 p.m. in front of the Palace Theater, opposed to Gordon's Furniture. The winner will be drawn at 4:45 p.m. in front of The Red River Sun. The winner need not be present to win.

Remember, tickets are limited—first come, first serve! 🎟

Prior to the hunt, the Palace Theater will show a holiday film beginning at 2 p.m., and CTX Run Club will host a one-mile Treasure Trot beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Bobcat Nutrition.

Following the hunt, guests are encouraged to attend Christmas In The Park, Childress, Texas’ Lighting of Fair Park at 6:30 p.m., which will welcome new and exciting lighted displays, as well as photos with Santa, hot chocolate, face painting, kids' crafts, hay rides and more at the Fair Park City Auditorium.
