MEET THE TEAM BEHIND BARRIO TACO COMPANY 🌮

Something new is coming to Downtown China Grove—and this one feels a lot like coming home.

Jason Overcash, owner of Meadows at Grove Cartel and Grove Cartel Brewing Co., is partnering with China Grove native Chef Dustin Neely to bring the next culinary experience to Downtown China Grove: Barrio Taco Company.

Barrio will serve up bold, flavorful Tex-Mex-style food in a lively, welcoming atmosphere, complete with a rooftop bar made for gathering, drinks and good times downtown.

For Dustin, Barrio is a full-circle moment.

A South Rowan High School graduate, Dustin started his restaurant career at just 15 as a curb boy at Gary’s. His passion for food eventually took him to Boston, Charleston and Charlotte, where he studied at the French Culinary Institute and Johnson & Wales University and worked alongside acclaimed and James Beard-recognized chefs including Barbara Lynch, Bob Waggoner and Paul Verica.

Dustin later helped Mac’s Speed Shop expand into six new locations and has spent the past decade as Corporate Chef for Best Bars Charlotte. He is also a partner in West Loop Local in Downtown Kannapolis.

Now, he’s bringing that experience back home.

Together, Jason and Dustin share a vision: bring the quality, creativity and flavors of big-city dining to China Grove in a way that is approachable, affordable and unforgettable.

From Grove Cartel Brewing Co. to Meadows at Grove Cartel and now Barrio Taco Company, the story continues.
