My dad captured this photo today of my son and youngest brother's headstone. He captioned it with how Alec, left us two years ago tragically in an accident.

After Alec passed I asked him to show me a black butterfly as a sign. For a couple of weeks there were black butterflies all over my deck. That is where I got the name for my business. Representing rebirth, renew, recreation, etc.

It was the greatest pain our family experienced, to lose such an amazing and selfless person, and giant piece of ourselves that day. The ache throbs just as hard as the thoughts of him flood our minds. Memories we shared, what if's, would he be married, have kids, etc.

Great pain represents the great love we all share for each other. It also represents the bond and great strength we have found in ourselves to overcome this gigantic heaviness that lies inside all of us.

I know Alec is still with us and he is so proud of everyone. He will be one of the first faces I see when my time comes and that itself will be heavenly and beautiful.

I'm thankful for this life, this family, and for all the love. Thank you for all of your support, today, and always.
