Upgrading Patient Care Technology at Javon Bea Hospital—Rockton in Rockford, Illinois.

Our team completed upgrades across 10 patient rooms, including the removal of existing display carriers and displays, back-pulling cabling from existing TRUMPF suspensions, and the installation of upgraded display carriers designed to accommodate new 32-inch Stryker monitors on the existing spring arms and suspension systems.

Projects like this require careful planning, technical precision, and attention to detail to ensure new technology integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure. We’re proud of the work our team delivered and the role Maxim Medical Services plays in helping healthcare facilities modernize their clinical environments.

Maxim Medical Services recently completed a major equipment modernization project at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This project was more than an equipment replacement—it was a coordinated, turnkey effort designed to upgrade clinical infrastructure while maintaining a carefully controlled installation process.

Completed across eight one-week phases, our team de-installed existing Skytron booms and light suspensions and installed new Amico booms and light suspensions. During each phase, our crews also back-pulled existing data cabling from the countertops so the infrastructure could be reused with the new equipment.

The project included a comprehensive range of services, including:

• Structural modifications to accommodate the new equipment
• Relocation of wall controls for the new lighting
• Electrical disconnects/reconnects and additional runs to new mounting locations
• Medical gas disconnects/reconnects and required certifications
• Infection control provisions throughout the installation
• De-installation and installation of booms and surgical lighting

Executing this scope successfully required coordination across multiple disciplines, attention to detail, and a commitment to keeping the project moving through each phase. We’re proud to have helped modernize the clinical environment at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center while delivering the quality and professionalism our healthcare partners expect from Maxim Medical Services.

We are pleased to announce that Nick Dittmar has joined the Maxim Family as our new Project Manager.

Nick brings 12 years of healthcare experience working as a service technician and installer in hospital operating rooms, including approximately nine years with KARL STORZ and three years working independently. He also brings a broad background in technology, construction, video systems, electrical work, and field installation.

Throughout his career, Nick has served in project management, construction supervision, and lead technician roles, including more than six years leading technical teams. He is particularly skilled at troubleshooting issues efficiently, understanding the full scope of a project, anticipating potential challenges, and ensuring the small details come together successfully.

Nick also has extensive hands-on experience with technology infrastructure, electrical systems, MEP and HVAC-related work, and complex installations. He holds the CompTIA Security+ certification and is currently working toward his CySA+ certification, further strengthening his knowledge of cybersecurity and connected technology systems.

A few key attributes that differentiated Nick were his strong work ethic, positive attitude, attention to detail, organization, communication, and ability to help others resolve conflicts while remaining focused on the objective. His belief in treating people the way he would want to be treated aligns closely with our culture and values at Maxim Medical.

We are pleased to announce that James Leonard has joined the Maxim Family as our new Manager of Turnkey Services.

James is a military veteran and clinical engineering professional with more than 20 years of experience managing the procurement, installation, testing, repair, and calibration of medical device systems.

Throughout his career, James has served in leadership and operational roles that include Clinical Engineering Manager, logistician, policy developer, and maintenance lead. His broad experience and hands-on understanding of clinical engineering will help Maxim continue delivering well-coordinated turnkey solutions and outstanding service to our customers and partners.
James holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Science and Technology and a Philips certification in Computed Tomography. He is also a Bronze Star recipient, reflecting the dedication, leadership, and commitment to service he brings to the Maxim team.

What stood out most to us is his detail-oriented, resourceful, friendly, and loyal nature. These qualities align closely with our culture and values at Maxim Medical.
