Another exciting milestone for Angels’ Castle! Today we had our final meeting to select the interior finishes for our future home in Springfield Township.
A heartfelt thank you to our builders, Paul Hemmer company, Ninja Floors of Cincinnati, Hub + Weber Architects and Created Illusions for helping us bring this dream to life. Every detail brings us one step closer to creating a beautiful, welcoming place where adults with intellectual disabilities can learn, grow, and thrive.
The dream is becoming a reality! 💙✨

Today, we celebrate the extraordinary fathers, families, caregivers, and advocates of individuals with special needs. Your love, patience, resilience, and unwavering belief make a profound difference every single day.
A special Father’s Day congratulations to my husband, Dr. Alvaro Ryes, cofounder of Angels’ Castle and devoted father to our beloved Marco. Marco is autistic, and through him we have learned so much about unconditional love, courage, perseverance, and the importance of building a more inclusive future.
Angels’ Castle was created from that love and from the belief that every person with intellectual and developmental disabilities deserves dignity, opportunity, purpose, friendship, and a place to belong.
To every father walking this journey: you are seen, you are appreciated, and you are never alone. 💙

💙❤️💛

Angels Castle got to visit a day program run by New Horizons in Indiana, they also had a festival day. This group has 60 years of experience doing programs for people with intellectual disabilities. Our visit exceeded our expectations and with their help we are going to do a great job at Angels’ Castle. Louie Ryes would had loved visiting this place. They have participants that are gifted in many ways. One of them is a great self made musician

We had the opportunity to tour a neighborhood for people with special needs in Hudson, near Cleveland. Chris and Patty Gurreri, the founders, shared their story and showed us their amazing project. Great experience as we finalize our campus design.

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is a reminder that inclusion isn’t charity—it’s justice. Every person grows, learns, and contributes in their own way, and our communities are stronger when we remove barriers and make room for all abilities. Respect, access, and opportunity should never depend on how someone develops. This month is dedicated to promoting inclusion, respecting diversity, and highlighting the contributions of people with developmental disabilities. Established in 1987, this month focuses on breaking down barriers to community participation and celebrating the diverse strengths of individuals with disabilities. At Angels’ Castle we care about you.

Discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities denies their dignity, potential, and basic human rights. It appears in lowered expectations, exclusion from education, sports, groups or work, and attitudes that confuse disability with inability. True inclusion means recognizing individual strengths, providing appropriate support, and ensuring equal opportunities—not pity, silence, or segregation. Respect and access are not favors; they are rights.
