Stairs in our current house with stairlift and manual chair upstairs. It's really difficult to transfer to use the stairlift on my own, so my dad had to pick me up to put me in the stairlift everyday. A single level house would be so much easier and give me independence that I have never had.

Trying to go to events like concerts is such a hassle. I have to plan well in advance because of my wheelchair. Often having to miss out on things because I have no help. It's so frustrating. Physically being able to drive doesn't mean I can just go wherever. As odd as it sounds garages and parking lots are something i never the grasped the concept of so I was still getting dropped off/picked up for things. Now even that is no longer a option resulting in having to miss out on things I want to do.

Trying to figure out how to get into Paycor stadium and where to park or get dropped off. Dont need to go until October but need to get an idea of a plan because of my wheelchair

I realize that what I am wanting to do is not considered the normal. Yes I am in a Wheelchair but I drive and I work and the next thing I'd like to do is own a house/condo, or rent a place that is all on one level and has a garage to park my van. I do not ever want to be back in low-income housing(CMHA) or live in a facility. I never been one to think of myself as disabled so in my mind im just trying to do what everyone else does. Using a stairlift to get upstairs isn't ideal and its hard on my body. Unfortunately there aren't any programs besides FHA that can help someone become a homeowner. Definitely nothing specificly for the disabled unless they are a veteran. Ok im done ranting but wanted to explain why getting my own place is so important to me.
