Findlay Kitchen Non-profit food business incubator supporting food entrepreneurs looking to start, grow and scale This project was made possible by the Marge and Charles J.

The Charlotte and Edward Unnewehr Findlay Kitchen is an 8,000 square foot shared-use kitchen located just a block from historic Findlay Market. Findlay Kitchen will provide local food entrepreneurs with affordable, rent-by-the-hour access to commercial-grade kitchen equipment and storage space, all within a fully licensed facility. We are committed to supporting food entrepreneurs with a program that provides “cottage kitchens” with the necessary space, equipment and licensing to facilitate an increase in their production, enable growth, create jobs, and bring healthy, locally grown and manufactured foods to a wider group of people within the Cincinnati region. When a batch of wintertime chicken pickle becomes the obsession of everyone in your social circle, you don't just keep it in the pantry—you build a business around it. 🧑‍🍳

That unforgettable dish became the spark for Anchu, a South Indian fusion venture founded by the mother-daughter duo Sravanthi and Aadhya Ramineni. “People in our community loved it so much and wanted more,” Aadhya shares. “I started putting our chicken pickle on breakfast sandwiches and wanted to share Indian fusion foods with the world.”

The idea took root during a visit to Findlay Market, where the pair noticed a distinct lack of South Indian options and wanted to fill the gap. Their journey officially kicked off in January 2026 by enrolling in Findlay Learn's Food Business Foundations course. From there, the concept snowballed into a vibrant menu blending bold fusion items with traditional staples like dosas, sauces, and seasonal beverages. Today, Anchu operates out of Findlay Kitchen and brings its creations to the Outdoor Market on weekends.

The name Anchu means "edge" in Telugu, inspired by the ecological edge effect—the scientific principle that maximum diversity occurs where two landscapes meet. “We believe the same is true of cultures,” says Aadhya. “We want Anchu to be a vibrant place where people of all backgrounds meet and feel a sense of belonging.”

At the core of the business are three values: offering bold, flavor-packed food; using high-quality, nourishing ingredients that make people feel good; and prioritizing warm hospitality to build community.

The culinary foundation is deeply personal. Sravanthi leads the kitchen with twenty-five years of home-cooking experience, adapting many core dishes from her mother's cherished recipes. Aadhya manages business operations, branding, marketing, and the drink and dessert menus, supported by a small team for production and weekend pop-ups.

Anchu's growth has been swift. After renting equipment from Findlay Kitchen for their March debut, they secured their own mobile license by June. Their social media momentum surged as well, and the team scaled from a single setup to a two-tent operation within a single market season.

Honey Child Artisan Pops recently shared that they’ve made the decision to close their business after many years of serving delicious, whole fruit pops to the Cincinnati area. We are so grateful to have supported Sarah and Damien and their family in their business journey, and we’ll forever be proud of the hard work they put into such a cool (😉) business!

While we join everyone in their sadness to watch them go, we also feel there’s so much to celebrate. Seven years of handmade, better-for-you treats. Seven years of connections made at markets all over town. Seven years of brainstorming, improving, and expanding a small, family-owned business. And seven years of memories we’ll never forget.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, Kelly Shaw left Portland, Oregon, and returned home to Cincinnati. During months of COVID unemployment, Kelly developed a vision for Okie Doke, a business rooted in nostalgia, comfort, and coming home—named after her Grandma Jackie, who always ended phone calls with, "Okie Doke, Babe. I love you."

That personal warmth also fills the menu, weaving Kelly’s childhood memories of leona, rye bread, Danish butter cookies, goetta, and Cincinnati chili with the quirks of local food culture into something uniquely ‘Okie Doke’.

Stepping out with the business has brought a deeper gift: experiencing the extraordinary heart of Cincinnati's small business community. Through pop-ups at spots like King Pigeon, New Riff Distilling, Pata Roja, Knuckles Deli, and soon Collective Espresso, Kelly notes that local Cincinnati businesses have welcomed her with open arms and played a huge role in the success of the pop-up business. For Kelly, Okie Doke is both a love letter to home and a space where others can find that same genuine comfort.

As the Associate Director of Findlay Kitchen, Kelly is grateful that she gets to support so many small businesses through her everyday work. For her, bringing Okie Doke to life right out of Findlay Kitchen brings the story full circle—making it all the more meaningful to experience that same encouragement, support, and excitement from her community now that she is stepping out with her own venture.

Serving up authentic German street food, this fan-favorite vendor actually got their start right here at Findlay Kitchen. If you haven’t tried them yet and need a recommendation on where to start, you have to try their signature Schnitzel Sandwiches - one of the top items on their menu and absolutely delicious. We are so proud that Findlay Kitchen was a part of their journey, and we love seeing them thriving out in the community!
