The City of Cincinnati has updated its project website to provide an opportunity for residents and members who travel this corridor to review the proposal and provide their own feedback.

WHY THE CLUB IS REQUESTING MORE INFORMATION
The Cincinnati Sports Club has retained a transportation engineer to independently review the City's proposal and its potential impact on the surrounding transportation network.

We have requested the traffic data and studies used in developing the proposed plan so our engineer can evaluate the assumptions, traffic volumes and projected impacts.

This is important because roadways do not function as individual intersections - they operate as an interconnected transportation network.

Changes to Erie Avenue and Murray Avenue have the potential to influence traffic throughout the surrounding corridor, including Red Bank Road, Brotherton Road and access to Interstate 71. A comprehensive review can help answer important questions about vehicle queuing, travel times, nearby intersections, commercial traffic, emergency access and the potential for congestion to shift elsewhere.

SAFETY FOR EVERYONE WHO USES THE CORRIDOR
The Cincinnati Sports Club supports improving safety for all modes of transportation - pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

We also believe those improvements should not come at the detriment of any one mode of transportation or simply move an existing problem from one location to another.

Our goal is a balanced solution that:

Improves safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
Preserves safe and efficient travel for motorists.
Considers commercial and emergency vehicle access.
Supports neighboring businesses and residents.
Recognizes the importance of this corridor in connecting eastside communities with Red Bank Road and Interstate 71.

This is about making sure significant changes to an important eastside transportation corridor are supported by appropriate data, thoughtful engineering and an understanding of how the entire roadway system works together.

Many Cincinnati Sports Club members travel the Erie Avenue and Murray Avenue corridor every day - not only to visit the Club, but also to reach Red Bank Road, Interstate 71, the Village of Fairfax, Mariemont and surrounding eastside neighborhoods.

The City of Cincinnati is currently considering roadway changes that could affect how traffic moves throughout this important eastside corridor. The City's proposed plan would reduce portions of Erie Avenue to one vehicular travel lane in each direction and eliminate the continuous right-turn lane from eastbound Erie Avenue onto Murray Avenue.

The City is hosting a public Open House to share its proposed plans and hear directly from the community.

Residents will have an opportunity to review the proposed plans, ask questions and provide feedback directly to City representatives.

For more than 25 years, the Cincinnati Sports Club has been involved in discussions surrounding transportation and access in this area with OKI, Hamilton County Engineer’s Office and the Village of Fairfax. With the City's current proposal, the Club has retained an independent transportation engineer to review the plan and its potential impact on the larger transportation network - including Erie Avenue, Murray Avenue, Brotherton Road, Red Bank Road and access to Interstate 71.

The Club's transportation engineer believes the proposed configuration could increase congestion and travel times along portions of the corridor. The engineer also believes there are opportunities to develop a solution that:

* Improves safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
* Preserves efficient travel for motorists.
* Supports neighboring businesses and residents.
* Recognizes the corridor's importance in connecting eastside communities with Red Bank Road and Interstate 71.

The City has stated that the project remains in the design phase and that community input will help shape the final design.

The Adult Only 21+ Outdoor Pool is still open - so keep swimming, relaxing poolside and enjoying the hot tub as the temperatures begin to cool.

Prefer the courts? Take advantage of beautiful fall evenings with outdoor tennis and pickleball under the lights.

And when you head indoors, your options keep going. With 200+ group exercise classes each week included with membership, including Pilates Reformer, multiple workout environments, aquatics, recovery, co-working and plenty of opportunities to connect, your routine can change right along with the season.
