Molluscum contagiosum is a common viral skin infection in children and has very characteristic histologic findings 🔍

On histology, the lesion shows lobulated epidermal hyperplasia with large intracytoplasmic inclusions within keratinocytes, also known as Henderson-Patterson bodies. These inclusions are highly characteristic and help confirm the diagnosis.

The CCHMC Pediatric Pathology Fellowship Program would like to remind everyone that registration is now open for the 2026 Perinatal Pathology Virtual Course through The Society for Pediatric Pathology (SPP).

🗓️ August 20–22, 2026
📚 15.75 CME credits

This virtual course will cover practical and educational topics in perinatal autopsy, placental pathology, and current advances in perinatal pathology. We encourage those interested in the field to register and take advantage of this educational opportunity.

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is more than just a peak eosinophil count 🔍

While >15 eos/hpf is commonly used to support the diagnosis, it does not fully reflect disease activity. The EoE Histologic Scoring System (EoE-HSS) evaluates 8 different histologic features, offering a more comprehensive picture of what is happening in the tissue.

From a fun team's bingo game to enjoying delicious food together, the week was full of energy and connection. We loved seeing everyone’s creativity shine during our lab coat fashion show, and the Toy Story costumes definitely brought extra fun and laughter to the celebration! 🤠🧸
