Most people think core training starts with the movement.
It doesn’t.
Before you load a pattern, you need to be able to breathe through it. Diaphragmatic breathing creates the intra-abdominal pressure that makes your core actually work — not just look like it’s working.
Here’s the progression:
✅ Dead bug, legs supported → learn the breath
✅ Legs unsupported → maintain the breath while holding position
✅ Contralateral resistance → now prove you can do both under load
If you lose the breath, you’ve lost the core. It’s that simple.
This is the foundation we build from at Optimal HP — whether you’re a runner, a lifter, or just trying to move without pain.
