Next trip… loading!
3 weeks in Japan🇯🇵 here we come! 1.5 months out from 🛫

So much planning goes into any international trip, but even more when traveling with multiple severe food allergies.

If anyone has any recommendations, I’d love to hear them.

I love scratch kitchens and a staff that is genuinely knowledgeable and accommodating with food allergies. Plus the food is simply divine 😍 So many reasons why Via Vite is our go too celebration spot in Cincinnati.

Grilled grouper sandwich with a view… and allergen safe ☀️🍽️

Sloppy Joes at Treausre Island was a lovely spot for a dinner. I ordered a grilled grouper sandwich with “no fancy seasoning” as I call it, just salt and pepper. They cooked it on a seperate section of the grill with seperate utensils from the shellfish. It was delicious!

Neither the French fries or kettle chips were safe (fries in the same oil as the shellfish) and I wasn’t hungry enough to upgrade to a side salad, so I just got the fries on a separate plate for my husband to eat. The server was very patient and throughout taking my allergies and cooking notes down.

**I have peanut, tree nut, shellfish, sodium nitrate, sodium benzoate, yellow dye, and celery allergies. All anaphylactic level.**

We came for dinner, and came back for two beach days with safe lunches!

I look forward to getting fresh grouper every time I come Florida but sometimes it’s not possible due to restaurants not being able or willing to prepare it safely… but not at Caddy’s!

The servers were great with all my questions and clarifications. I was able to confirm the ingredients for the seasoning of the grouper sandwich as well as they confirmed they would grill it on a separate clean part of the grill, free from shellfish. The server brought my food separate from the rest of my table to make sure I got the correct plate. I was also able to get great fresh vegetables as a side because I wasn’t able to eat the French fries or kettle chips due to being fried in the same oil as shellfish.

It went so good that we came back the next two days and used their beachfront and got to go lunches directly to the beach.

Both were great with the same great customer service experience! Grilled chicken sandwich and a salad with grilled chicken. Both safe, and both delicious. I had to take the almonds off the salad and switch the dressing on the salad in order to be safe, and both modifications were made correctly. This is something that sometimes doesn’t happen and I have to send the food back to get something made the way I requested it, but they were on it.

Thanks for a great couple days! We’ll be back ☀️
