Just a heads up!!!! 📣

Tanner is expected to be coming home soon!!! We are in the works of planning a big WELCOME HOME for Tanner and his family. We are thinking they will be coming home either July 31 or August 1st. This will be something similar to the send off parade we gave him when he left last October.

So be on the lookout for Allllll The details coming soon!!!!

It feels like a good time to update.
At 127 days post second transplant we went into clinic. Tanners numbers(cbc) and all the other labs I won't bore you with looked great. So Tanner asked " when can I get my picc out, because I've been waiting along time"
Dr. Hudda replied with "I guess today if you want"
😁 He was so brave and took it like a champ! Now let's hope we can keep it out forever!!!
***** a few weeks ago Tanner had his 100 day biopsy. The results came back. 💯 % DONOR CELLs!!!
NO MONOSOMY 7 DETECTED, NO GATA 2, NO MDS. 🧡🧡😁😁
We are so happy to be at this point. Our tentative going home date is the first of August. Tanner is still immunocompromised so if you see us please be respectful of his space, and he will have no problem telling you lol. We still ask for prayers that this disease never comes back, that he stays 100% donor and Tanner continues to recover and heal. I am so proud of this child.🧡

First...I read every one of your comments, I may not respond back but thank you for your words. All of you!

We were told we could eat outside if it wasn't busy! So we did🧡
Tanner has had back to back great days. I haven't said that in a long time. He has wanted to eat, he had a good eye appointment (swelling going down) , he has been throwing his football with a couple boys on the RMH playground (freaks me out still since he has the picc line in) and has only said " I'm nauseous" right when he wakes up and right before he goes to bed. So thought I'd share this pic of that cute little smile🧡

There are good days and not so good ones. This little boy has been through it and I get so mad/sad thinking about how unfair it is. Not just for him but all kids who suffer. Tanner is dealing with nausea every single day. Sometimes it's controlled, sometimes it's not. He says things like " why do I still feel like this" or " just take me back to the hospital, because this sucks".
We post mostly the good stuff but today I'm pi**ed off that he is missing a family vacation, fun with his cousins or just being able to play with kids his age. I know it will get better, but to a 10 year old boy it doesn't seem that way. I am so thankful for how far we have come from where we were just 4 months ago. It's just a reminder that even though he may look "normal" he still is recovering and he still is just a kid wanting to be "normal".
Please continue to pray that Tanner continues to improve and feels better, and that this disease NEVER returns.

Day plus 92 from second BMT! Tuesdays and Fridays are day hospital days. Labs look good today. We pretty much just continue what we do. He definitely needs to eat and drink more. Once he does, we can possibly come back off of the TPNs. Not much else is going on just hanging out at the RMH, and that's a good thing😊
We are hoping for a weekend pass home soon , as long as his numbers stay good.
So please pray that everything keeps going great, and that his swelling behind his eyes resolves along with the nausea. He says."if the nausea would just go away, he would feel great."
