Divergenthood doesn't just focus on the oppression of neurodivergent people, but on all people who diverge from societal standards. We unconsciously hide the best parts about ourselves to gain safety and security in a world that tells us that how we naturally exist is not acceptable. That disconnection leads you to be hyper-vigilant, and then we wonder why we're all burned out.

gifted people in order to maintain your sanity you must learn to accept people for where they are versus who they are. You may be able to see the ideal situation, but if they’re not ready for it, they’ll see you as the enemy.

Don’t let your perception of disability stop you from getting your child the support that they need. Being disabled doesn’t mean dumb, but it does mean that there is support that is needed. Accepting them as they are helps them accept themselves without performing for your ego.

I don't attack people; I attack systems. I've gone from the hood to the ivory tower and back again. I've seen problematic people of every color. This is deeper than race; it's about the unconscious programming that makes us chase everyone else's dream instead of our own.

The word c**n has a complicated history; however, in this context, I am using the word c**n to describe docile black people who accept and uphold white supremacist structures.

Talking down to the black community while positioning the white community as aspirational and the violence within it as normal is self-hatred, and that's dangerous because it shapes not only how you see the world but how you see yourself.

Black parents have an impossible decision to make when it comes to their child’s education. But moving your child to the “good school”district is not all that it’s cracked up to be. You have to consider their experience, not just their education. You have to consider if the trauma they will experience is worth the education they will receive.

Banned Books Week is taking place October 4 to October 10. This year’s theme is, “Let Books Be. Protect The Freedom to Read.”

Books are the foundation of our identities, the keepers of our stories, and the pathways to our freedom. Our Books. Our Stories. Our Freedom.

Raising neurodivergent children is difficult but that’s why keeping yourself grounded is essential to not only their development but yours.

Gifted children are often penalized for being gifted by being given more than what they can handle from an early age.

Gifted children are more likely to take on harder courses and pursue careers that require them to go beyond their capacity, leaving them disconnected and burned out.

The only way to address this pattern is to identify the root and begin to reclaim who you are outside of what you can achieve.

If you need support, book a session and take the root assessment, which will tell you exactly what patterns you dealt with in childhood, how they currently impact you, and a personalized plan forward.
