🌿 Something new in the apothecary!

I’ve added a new contraption to my herbal setup and I’m curious to see who can figure out what it is! 🤔
Any guesses on what this little gadget is and what I’ll be using it for?!

We’ve been blaming those poor deer for eating up all the corn and come to find out, Mr. Fat Pants Groundhog has been running an all you can eat corn buffet! He’s definitely living up to his name 🤭
This chunky thing has dug two huge holes and judging by the size of his belly, I’m pretty sure they’re both one way only! Ain’t no backing that cornfed body out once he squeezes in! 🤣

I think he may have found his new “thinking spot.” I’m just thankful he didn’t fall right out of the stand when I walked up and called his name! He had absolutely no clue I was anywhere around. I was just out enjoying a little evening walk! 🤷🏼‍♀️
He can have that spot, I’m good with my feet on the ground 😂

Isabella friends, if you haven’t tried Bree’s Sweet Bites delicious bread, cake pops and oatmeal pies yet, you are seriously missing out! Do yourself a favor and place an order! Everything is SO good and can we just take a moment to appreciate how adorable her packaging is?! ☺️

The storm brought down even more green walnuts, so of course I had to take advantage of it! I gathered two more buckets full and Ryan helped me remove all the hulls. I was able to make another whole gallon of black walnut tincture!
I encourage you to do a little research of your own and discover the traditional uses of this tincture. It’s definitely one worth learning about! 😉🌿
I love how the sun hit the bucket just right ☺️

I spy a little green popping up in the field! 🌱 So thankful for the rain we’ve been blessed with these past two days!

Please pray for our Amish friends in our neighborhood. Their woodshed is on fire. Gideon and his family are precious people.

Edited to add: a neighbor confirmed everyone is fine and their woodshed is good. They were burning some wood at their sawmill and the fire got out. Her husband helped move wood with the forklift so it wouldn’t burn 🙌🏼

When you stay at a hotel, do you still make your bed every morning or do you leave it for housekeeping?
Making my bed is literally the FIRST thing I do when my feet hit the floor every morning! Even when I’m on vacation! 😂

What about you?

So thankful Ryan was able to cut down this dead pine tree before the storm rolled in! The wind is really starting to pick up now and I can’t help but worry about the apothecary with all those big trees surrounding it. Praying everything stays safe through this storm! 😩🙏🏼
