Some devastating news for a family with local ties. David Greene, originally from Western New York (Williamsville), and his family have suffered an unimaginable tragedy. Last Wednesday, David's wife was driving their 6 children (ages 1–12) to the grocery store, an hour from their rural New Mexico home, when they were involved in a serious accident.

David's wife and their 10-year-old son were killed. Another child remains hospitalized in serious condition after surgery to place a plate in his head, along with two broken bones in his arm and other injuries. The children were airlifted three hours away for treatment.

David, a carpenter who was just about to start a new job, is now facing the unthinkable: caring for his 5 surviving children alone, enrolling them in public school for the first time, and getting them all caught up on medical care. His father, Dick Greene, is staying nearby at a Ronald McDonald House to support the family.
