Mohs micrographic surgery is considered the most effective procedure for removal of the two most common types of skin cancer - basal and squamous cell carcinomas. The goal of this procedure is to remove all of the “roots” of a skin cancer so that it will not regrow while sparing healthy tissue, leaving the smallest possible scar.
