Mother’s Day has a funny way of making you feel like you need to get dressed up and head to brunch to celebrate.

One of my favorite parts of becoming a mom is realizing all the ways to do it.

And the best part? They’re all right.

So here’s to the brunch moms, the backyard bbq moms, the movie in bed moms, the moms day out moms, the quiet book on the deck moms, the mimosas in the parking lot travel sports moms, and all the moms in between.

I love learning from you.

Something I’ve said no less than 100 times and have never been emotional about it until April 30th.

So here it goes……

You’re the smartest guy in every room you’re in yet rarely even say a word.

You’ve put up with my clutter overtaking our office for 10 years.

You ask for my recommendations and I literally fan girl over the idea that you respect my opinion enough to ask.

You’ve introduced me to some of your most beloved patients and trust me to continue taking care of them.

You’re doing something so many people dream of but aren’t brave enough to actually follow through with.

To my colleague, my mentor, my brother, my friend, cheers to you, your family, and your new adventure.

I met a patient this week and at the end of the visit, he said, “I’m really looking forward to working together.”.

What a cool thing to say because, same, sir.

At a time when it often feels like it’s medicine against the world, it’s refreshing to have someone respect the process.

Not 100% me.
Not 100% him.
Us.
Working together to accomplish the same goal.

Because, at the end of the day, it’s true what they say……teamwork makes the dream work.

“Any good Spring Break plans?!?”…..

A question I’ve asked everyone this week.

Yesterday, I asked a teenage boy that and his mom chimed in and said, “Remembering what it feels like to be bored.”.

Ain’t that the truth!?! When is the last time you were legitimately bored because, same.

I read something recently that suggested to schedule daily boredom. No phone. No to do list. Silence.

I’m sure I’m not alone when I say it’s easier to be busy than it is to be bored.

Busy equals productivity and purpose. Bored equals lazy and worthless.

Wrong.

They say creativity and clarity live on the other side of boredom.

I could use a little of both.

So, in a world that’s busier than ever, I look forward to being bored. 🥰
