A reminder that your health is about so much more than your weight 💛
There are a lot of nutrition and wellness habits that are worth practicing because they support your health, energy, nourishment, and quality of life — not because they may or may not make the number on the scale go down
Here’s what I would suggest to focus on:
🥑 Eat a variety of foods and food groups.
Your body needs carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and more. Eating a variety of foods helps you get a variety of nutrients and makes eating more enjoyable, too
💪🏼 Move your body, but don’t forget about rest.
Movement can support your physical and mental health. Find forms of movement you enjoy and that feel good in your body — and remember that rest and recovery are part of caring for your body, too
🫐 Find ways to enjoy fruits + veggies daily
Not because you need to “be good” or because they’re low calorie, but because they provide fiber, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and so much flavor when you find ways to eat them that you actually enjoy. Fresh, frozen, roasted, blended, sautéed, dipped in something delicious… it all counts
🫘 Prioritize fiber, too
Protein is important, and I absolutely recommend including it in your meals and snacks, just like carbohydrates and fats for example
But here’s something we don’t talk about enough: generally speaking, we are a fiber-deficient society, not a protein-deficient society
Protein has gotten SO much attention lately, while fiber often gets overlooked. So instead of only asking, “How can I get more protein?” try asking, “How can I add more fiber to this meal?”
And remember: none of these habits have to be perfect.
