Monday Mental Health Matters:

Grief is not an experience you just get over. It changes you. You are forever changed by the loss of the connection you’ve been blessed to carry. Healing from grief means accepting this loss, finding connection again (with others, yourself, and God), and making meaning or giving purpose to the connection you are grieving.

If you’re experiencing grief and having trouble feeling you can move through this season of your life, contact TBCC at 806-336-9454.

Wellness Wednesday:

Ever get that urge to dance in the rain?! Well, next time you do, go for it! It’s good for your mental health. Yes, dancing in the rain is great for mental health. Dancing in the rain combines movement, grounding in nature, and sensory stimulation to actively boost your mental well-being. It can also help you connect with your inner child, which can be healing for certain types of trauma. Specific benefits include:
-Stress and Tension Relief: The rhythmic sound of rain naturally reduces cortisol levels and calms the nervous system.
-Endorphin Release: Dancing triggers a release of feel-good hormones, which instantly elevates your mood and acts as a natural energy boost.
-Mindfulness: The overwhelming sensory experience of cool rain and wet air forces your brain to be fully present in the moment, helping to disrupt anxious thought loops.

So next time that it rains, take a moment to let yourself enjoy these benefits and dance! For more information about the specific benefits of dancing in the rain, contact TBCC @ 806-336-9454.

Wellness Wednesday:

Practicing gratitude can have a powerful impact on mental and emotional well-being. Research in psychology shows that regularly focusing on positive experiences, supportive relationships, and small moments of joy can help reduce stress, improve mood, and increase overall life satisfaction. Gratitude encourages the brain to shift attention away from negativity and toward appreciation, helping build resilience during difficult times. Even simple habits like journaling, reflecting on daily blessings, or expressing thanks to others can strengthen feelings of happiness, connection, and emotional balance over time.

Monday Mental Health Matters:

Setting healthy boundaries is an important part of protecting your mental and emotional well-being. Boundaries help create respectful relationships, reduce stress and burnout, and allow you to communicate your needs with confidence. Whether it’s saying “no,” taking time for yourself, or limiting unhealthy behaviors, healthy boundaries encourage self-respect, balance, and stronger connections with others.

Exercise is one of the most effective ways to improve both physical and mental well-being. Regular movement helps release endorphins and serotonin, which are chemicals in the brain that boost happiness, reduce stress, and improve overall mood. Exercise can also increase energy levels, improve sleep, and help lower symptoms of anxiety and depression. Even small amounts of daily activity, such as walking, biking, dancing, or spending time outdoors, can make a big difference in helping people feel more confident, focused, and emotionally balanced.

Wellness Wednesday:

Listen up! Did you know one of the healthiest things you can do for your brain is eat fish? Holy Mackerel! Yes, fish or omega 3 fish oil supplements rich in EPA and DHA. DHA is a major structural component of the brain. Among several benefits for your entire body, supplying your brain with Omega 3 supports memory, improves mood, and lowers the risk of cognitive diseases. Well shiver me tembers! It’s recommended to eat fish twice weekly, but if it’s difficult to get fresh fish in your area, OTC supplements work well. Fish for pure, quality, reputable supplement brands and do not exceed 2 grams per day.
