MAC Midwest Autism Centers

MAC Midwest Autism Centers "We improve the lives of the people in our care affected by autism" At any given time, MAC serves more than 400 clients throughout the midwest. That’s it.

Founded in 1996 by parents who sought the very best treatment available to deliver opportunities to children and adolescents living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), MAC Midwest Autism Centers (you can call us MAC!) provide therapeutic services for children ages 18 months to 21 years who have ASD. Our services utilize several therapeutic modalities, including applied behavior analysis (ABA) the

rapy. MAC’s services are center-based and in-home, and include speech and occupational therapy, assessment and diagnosis services, and individual and family therapy. We currently have 19 centers and continue to grow to meet the needs in underserved communities. Our mission
We improve the lives of the people in our care affected by autism. Our team
Our team of behavioral therapists, clinical staff and licensed mental health professionals are here for you, ready to make a difference. These team members include doctorate-level psychologists, licensed social workers, licensed marriage and family therapists, and licensed professional clinical counselors. Our focus is on supporting youth with ASD and their families in order to live a healthy and happy life. That is our niche. Our relationship with you
Your child is not just a client here at MAC—he or she becomes a member of the MAC family. We value relationships and are here for you throughout your journey. Our families have dedicated professionals at each center to guide them and answer questions. Our parent Advisory Council (PAC) is comprised of MAC parents from each center whose main purpose is to create activities to support, inform and engage MAC families. We know that ASD can be overwhelming at times; we make it a priority to put your mind at ease and offer comfort and resources that can help you. Our training
Our staff have been trained in Safety-Care Behavioral Safety Training, a leading crisis prevention training course focusing on how to prevent behavioral challenges, de-escalate early and manage behaviors safely. The curriculum is founded upon evidence-based research in the areas of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) which we believe offers our staff and those we serve with the best strategies available. Safety-Care is consistent with our goal to maintain a comfortable, safe and learning environment and it meets or exceeds the accreditation standards outlined by CARF, JCAHO, COA and other agencies concerned with quality care. If you have additional questions regarding Safety-Care and its implementation, don’t hesitate to ask.

Our Clear Lake learners soaked up the joy during Water Day yesterday, laughing, exploring, and connecting through hands-on play.

We love to create spaces where learning feels like belonging. Childhood is filled with moments of discovery, friendship, and fun.

These are the days that build confidence, spark curiosity, and remind us why this work matters.

👥 Connection. Collaboration. Care.

Our amazing SPOT (Speech and OT) team came together this week for an in-person meeting filled with shared insights, laughter, and renewed energy.

With team members across the Midwest, moments like these are especially meaningful. We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from one another, strengthen our connection, and align on how we can best support the learners and families we serve. We look forward to more moments like this in the future.

To our SPOT team: thank you for your compassion, creativity, and commitment. Your work truly helps learners grow into who they are.

✨ This is why we Shine. ✨

Recently, one of our amazing therapists, captured a moment that stopped us in our tracks.

These two sweet boys usually prefer solitary play. They find comfort in routines and are both working so hard to build social skills and connect with others. And then this happened.

No prompts. No directions. Just a quiet, beautiful moment of connection between two children.

This is the heart of what Shine for MAC is all about. These powerful, unexpected moments are made possible by the dedication of our team, the love of our families, and the support of people like you.

Growing together with purpose and precision.

This week, our mental health professionals came together for a full-day clinical retreat focused on advancing care through collaboration and clinical expertise.

The theme, “Growing Together: Clinical Precision and Collaborative Power,” guided sessions on EIDBI assessments, integrated neurodevelopmental care, and regional resource alignment. Our team also made space to reset with mindful breathing, movement, and meaningful conversation.

This retreat reminded us that great care starts with a strong, connected team. When we take time to learn, reflect, and grow together, everyone benefits, especially the learners and families we serve.

To our MHPs: thank you for the insight, compassion, and commitment you bring to this work. You make a difference every day.
