☀️ What an Incredible Summer! ☀️
Our Summer Pre-ETS program was filled with learning, growth, career exploration, and fun.
Students explored careers, built resumes, created Indeed accounts, learned workplace communication and self-advocacy skills, studied disability rights and accommodations, practiced financial literacy, visited college campuses, and met professionals from a variety of industries.
We also made time for connection and fun through team-building activities, games, and celebrations of each student's accomplishments.
When asked what stood out most about the program, student Brianna shared:
💬 "Learning how to ask for what you need at a job."
This powerful statement reflects one of the program's most important goals: helping students develop the confidence to advocate for themselves as they prepare for employment and adulthood.

The future is bright at PARC!
We were honored to hear from Ken Crum, ServiceSource President and Chief Executive Officer, and Andy Rind, ServiceSource Chief Program Officer, as they joined PARC Executive Director Ken Naegle to share ServiceSource and PARC's five-year strategic plan.
As we look toward the future, we are excited to pursue new goals, celebrate continued success, and strengthen our commitment to empower individuals with disabilities through training and employment.

🎓 College Campus Tours Inspire Future Goals 🎓
As part of our Summer Pre-ETS program, students had the opportunity to explore post-secondary education options during our College Visits Day.
We visited:
🏫 Davis Technical College
🏫 Weber State University
Students learned about educational pathways, campus resources, and opportunities that can help them achieve their career goals. Visiting both a technical college and a university allowed students to see the variety of options available after high school and begin thinking about what path may be the best fit for their interests and aspirations.
Experiences like these help students connect today's learning with tomorrow's possibilities.

Learning from Professionals Across Many Industries
🚒👮🏗️📊🛍️ Exploring Careers Through Real-World Connections!
One of the most exciting parts of our Summer Pre-ETS program was hearing directly from professionals working in a wide variety of industries. By meeting people with different career paths, students gained valuable insight into the many possibilities available to them.
Throughout the program, we welcomed:
🔹 Bradley from Pro Trades Construction
🔹 Mitchell from the Weber County Sheriff's Office, who showed students the inside of a police vehicle
🔹 First Responders from the North Davis Fire District, who gave tours of a fire truck and ambulance
🔹 McKenzie, Customer Experience Manager at Five Below
🔹 Cody, Analytics Manager for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
From public safety and emergency response to retail, construction, and data analytics, students were exposed to a diverse range of careers and learned firsthand about the skills, responsibilities, and opportunities each field offers.
A big thank you to all of our guest presenters for helping students explore potential career paths!

Everything was soda-lightful about this outing! 🥤✨ Our participants had a swig-tastic time visiting Swig and mixing up some delicious dirty soda creations. There were plenty of smiles, fun, and fizzy favorites all around!
