If you have Aetna, Cigna, or Curative, your visits with me as a Registered Dietitian are often 100% covered by insurance. That means you can use your health benefits for our appointments.

Important clarity though (because I like to be very upfront):
Insurance only covers our face to face visits. It does not cover functional testing or supplements.

Using insurance can still reduce your overall cost by a lot, and for many people it makes getting started way more doable.

If you recognize yourself in these symptoms, it’s not because you’re doing something wrong.
Most of the time, there are real physiological reasons behind why the body feels stuck.

Fatigue, stubborn body fat, hormone symptoms, digestive issues, and even anxiety can all be connected to how your metabolism, stress response, and nutrient status are functioning. These are the most common complaints I get in my practice.

Most people are told that stubborn weight comes down to eating less and moving more.

But when someone comes to me frustrated, doing a lot of things “right,” and still not seeing change, these same issues show up over and over again on testing.

Not only do these patterns make weight loss harder, they make people feel terrible: low energy, brain fog, poor sleep, low motivation, and food cravings.

If you’ve followed the typical advice and it’s not working, and you don’t feel like yourself anymore, that’s usually a sign there’s more going on beneath the surface.

A lot of people are doing these things thinking they’re helping their metabolism… and they’re not.

Eating too little, cutting fats too low, avoiding real food, or copying someone else’s plan all send stress signals to the body. Supporting your metabolism usually means doing less restriction and more of what actually nourishes you.

Eating less and doing more cardio often feels like the responsible thing to do.

But the body does not automatically respond by burning fat.

When calories stay too low for too long and cardio replaces strength training, the body adapts by slowing metabolism, increasing stress hormones, and breaking down muscle tissue. Fat loss becomes harder, not easier.

This is why chronic dieting often leads to plateaus, constant hunger, fatigue, and weight regain. These are not failures. They’re protective responses.

Sustainable fat loss happens when the body feels supported. Stable blood sugar, adequate protein and fat, proper recovery, and lower stress allow metabolism to work with you instead of against you.

Real progress starts with restoring balance, not pushing harder.
