For the past 60 days, we've shared stories, milestones, and moments that reflect the impact Neighborly makes across Pinellas County every day.

Behind every meal delivered, every ride provided, every activity shared, and every friendship formed are the people who make it all possible: our seniors, volunteers, staff, donors, and community partners.

As we celebrate 60 years of neighbors helping neighbors, we're grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey. Thank you for helping us build a stronger, more connected community for older adults!

Community brings people together, and Juneteenth is a time to honor freedom, reflect on our history, and celebrate the strength of our communities.

At the celebration at the Enoch Davis Center in St. Petersburg, Tommy, one of our outreach team members, connected with community members and shared information about the services and resources available to older adults throughout Pinellas County.

Here's to building communities rooted in connection, understanding, and respect. ❤️🖤💚

There's a lot happening behind the scenes of our Meals on Wheels program. Every meal is carefully prepared, packaged, and organized to help ensure homebound seniors across Pinellas County have access to the nutrition they need.

The challenge is that hundreds of local seniors are currently waiting for services like Meals on Wheels. Many are experiencing food insecurity due to fixed incomes, mobility limitations, social isolation, or chronic health conditions that make it difficult to shop for groceries or prepare meals on their own.

That's why the need for donations and volunteers is greater than ever. Their support helps us provide more meals, expand delivery routes, and reach more homebound seniors with the resources they rely on.

Losing the ability to drive can have a major impact on a senior's independence and quality of life. Missing appointments, staying home more often, and feeling isolated can quickly become a reality.

That's why Neighborly provides transportation services seniors in Pinellas County can count on. Every trip helps older adults maintain their independence and stay engaged in their community, whether they're heading to the grocery store, a medical appointment, one of our senior cafés, or an adult day center.

No senior should have to miss out on essential services, social connections, or opportunities simply because they don't have a ride. Your support helps us continue providing dependable transportation to older adults across Pinellas County.

Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver more than food... they deliver smiles, friendship, and hope! You don't have to do anything extraordinary to change someone's life. Just be someone who shows up.

Our volunteers are everyday people who give just 1–2 hours — once a week, every other week, or even once a month — at lunchtime to deliver meals to seniors in their own Pinellas County neighborhood. For many of these seniors, that knock on the door is the highlight of their day!

We'll work with whatever time you have. We currently have urgent volunteer needs in Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg. If you've been thinking about getting involved, now is a great time to start.

Growing older shouldn’t mean spending your days alone, but for many seniors, that’s exactly what happens.

Before coming to Neighborly, Lois spent most of her time at home by herself. She didn’t have many opportunities to get out, see people, or take part in activities. Now, her days are filled with music, laughter, friendships, and something new to look forward to. Neighborly has become a place where she feels connected, supported, and cared for.

No one should have to spend their later years feeling isolated. Our seniors deserve opportunities to stay active, build friendships, and remain part to their community just like everyone else. That’s why Neighborly’s services are so important. Every day, we help older adults access transportation, meals, activities, and the support they need to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Unfortunately, we can’t always rely on state funding to keep these services running. Recent funding cuts have made community support more important than ever. Donations help bridge that gap and allow us to continue providing the resources and support that seniors like Lois depend on every day.

Visit neighborly.org/60-for-60-campaign to donate and help us continue supporting our older neighbors.

Some seniors lose opportunities to get out, connect with others, and stay involved in their community as time passes.

Our Senior Cafes provide a place where older adults can do more than enjoy a nutritious meal. They can meet new people, build friendships, share conversations, and regain that sense of belonging that everyone deserves.

Because every neighbor deserves a place where they're welcomed, valued, and surrounded by people who care.
