It’s not the cookie. It’s thinking about it all day. 🍪💭
In my experience, the hardest part of cravings isn’t eating the cookie, the chips, or the ice cream. It’s standing in the kitchen after dinner telling yourself “I shouldn’t have it” — then five minutes later thinking “maybe just a little.” It’s making it through the afternoon at work only to find yourself searching the pantry the minute you get home.
It’s the constant mental back-and-forth:
“I’ll be good tomorrow.”
“I’ve already messed up today.”
“I deserve a treat.”
“Why can’t I control myself?”
That internal conversation can be exhausting. And after weeks, months, or even years of fighting those thoughts, many people start to feel frustrated with themselves.
One of my favorite things to hear from clients is: “Liat, I’m not thinking about food all day anymore.” 🌿
Not because they’re eating perfectly. Not because they suddenly have incredible willpower. But because their body is becoming more stable.
When blood sugar is better balanced and your body is getting the nutrients it needs, cravings often become quieter. You may notice:
• Fewer afternoon energy crashes
• Less urgency around sweets after dinner
• Fewer trips to the pantry looking for “something”
• Less feeling out of control around food
