✨ LASER SEASON IS COMING… and so is the SHED. ✨

I’ve been getting a LOT of questions lately about what the healing process after a HALO® laser treatment actually looks like — especially the infamous shedding phase — so I figured I’d use my own face as the demonstration. 😂

These photos/video are me 2 days post-HALO, and yes… those little flakes all over my black scrubs are courtesy of my face. 💀

After HALO, your skin develops tiny areas of treated tissue (often called MENDs) that can make the skin feel rough, dry, or almost sandpaper-like. Over the next several days, that treated tissue gradually works its way to the surface and naturally sheds away, revealing the fresh skin underneath. ✨

And when I say naturally… I mean DO. NOT. PICK. 🙅🏼‍♀️
No scrubbing. No exfoliating. No trying to “help” those little flakes along. Your skin knows what it’s doing — let it do its thing.

Pro tip from someone currently shedding her face at work:

✨ Sometimes the best treatment isn’t where you think it is. ✨

When many people notice deeper nasolabial folds (“smile lines”), they assume the fold itself needs to be filled. In reality, that’s often not the best approach.

For this patient, I restored support where it had been lost by placing 1 syringe of Juvederm Voluma XC into the piriform recesses (the area beside the nose). This provides structural support, helps lift the surrounding tissue, and softens the appearance of the nasolabial folds in a natural way.

To complete the look, I also used 0.5 mL of Juvederm Ultra XC to enhance lip shape, improve symmetry, and add just the right amount of hydration and definition—without overfilling.

✨ The goal is always to create balance and harmony, not simply add volume.

Some days I feel like I’m juggling a hundred different lives…

Some days I leave the med spa long after everyone else has gone home, reheating the same cup of coffee for the third time while my to-do list somehow keeps growing.

There are days I question if I’m doing enough in any one role.

But then I remember why I started.

I wanted to build something that was mine.
A place where patients feel truly cared for.
A business built on honesty, safety, education, and treating people like family—not just another appointment on the schedule.

More than anything, I wanted my boys to grow up watching their mom 🌈 ☁️ chase a dream 🌈☁️ with everything she had. Especially knowing that life isn’t always easy, and that sometimes the most meaningful things require sacrifice.
