Watching my father need care showed me how important it is for people to receive support that protects their dignity, independence, and quality of life. And I realized this wasn’t just personal — families experience this every single day.
That’s what inspired me to create Reasons To Care Healthcare Services in Northeast Ohio.
Hi, I’m Katrina Cooke, Founder and CEO. We provide person-centered support for adults with developmental disabilities, helping individuals build confidence, independence, and essential life skills so they can thrive in their homes and communities.
Verizon Small Business Digital Ready has helped position my business to win by giving me access to valuable business education, mentorship, networking, and resources that are helping us grow and expand into the Reasons To Care Independence Learning Center.
Because at Reasons To Care, we believe care should do more than support people — it shouldempower them.
And that’s how we’re creating stronger families, greater independence, and healthier communities.

Everybody celebrates the wins…
but nobody really talks about the real journey of becoming an entrepreneur.
Let me be honest.
There are days when if you don’t get up and work… you don’t eat.
Bills don’t pause. Life doesn’t wait.
Sometimes you’re paying one thing just to keep another going—just trying to keep your business alive.
That’s the part people don’t post.
This season of my life?
It’s called rebuilding, learning, and repositioning.
For the past year and a half, I’ve been doing the work behind the scenes—
no loans, no handouts… just faith, consistency, and showing up every single day.
I started from the ground up—and I’m still building from the ground up.
And I’m not embarrassed to say that.
Because the truth is…
the reward is going to be greater.
I’m grateful for every opportunity that’s poured into me—
programs that have strengthened me, stretched me, and helped me grow.
From being part of the Cleveland Chain Reaction to connecting with the Urban League , Key Bavk accelerated program , Chase, bank impact Program) , project community, Martin Luther King pitch, , urban leave, or greater Cleveland , corporate College for entrepreneurs , score mentorship, , and Mortar—
every step has been part of the process.
Even now, I’m still learning, still investing in myself—
taking courses at Cuyahoga Community College Corporate College
to grow not just my business, but my nonprofit, Stepping With A Vision.
Is it overwhelming sometimes? Yes.
But I’m committed.
So if you’re on this journey too—
don’t get distracted by what people show.
Stay focused on what you’re building.
Do what YOU need to do to get where YOU’re going.
This is the ugly truth of becoming a successful entrepreneur…
and I’m still standing in it 💜

Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel. For the past 6 years, the families I’ve had the honor of serving have shown me so much love and appreciation at the end of each year. I never expect anything—but being valued means everything.

💜🎀 LUPUS & BREAST CANCER AWARENESS POST 🎀💜
As a LUPUS WARRIOR, I not only fight a chronic illness every single day — I also face an increased risk that many people don’t talk about.
Did you know that women living with Lupus have a higher chance of developing certain types of cancer, including breast cancer? This is due to a combination of immune system dysfunction, long-term inflammation, and some of the medications used to manage Lupus symptoms.
That’s why early detection and regular screening are so important for us Lupus Warriors. We battle pain, fatigue, and flare-ups daily, but we must also stay on top of preventive care.
💜 I share this not for sympathy, but to raise awareness — because knowledge is power, and together, we can save lives through awareness, education, and support.
