It’ss been a while since I’ve posted. There’s been a lot going on around here, and it’s mostly positive. My wife and I decided it was time to move to another house and we’ve been busy making this new place our own with accessibility features and upgrades. I had read somewhere that it’s a good practice to say thank you to employers even if they give you a letter of rejection, and I thought this was a little rediculous. Today I finished listening to a book on Drive and Motivation. It spoke a great deal on research studies that tried to locate the single factor that influences what we do. A very fitting discussion for this blog. To summarize EyeRoll4, it’s a template: I do blank for blank. The one interesting takeaway I got from this book was that the addition of incentives sometimes takes away the feelings that normally are associated with work and tasks that are enjoyable....

This past week really was challenging for me at work. How my role was modified was where it was stressful. Things were not the norm and I understand that flexibility is required for any situation, but my ability to adapt was tested. Without getting into the odds and ins, I’ll say that keeping a steady calm mentality was definitely beneficial.
