$3.78 doesn’t cover the cost of the drug, the vial, the cap, the label, the technician, and the pharmacist that it takes to safely fill and verify your prescription for the correct dosage, drug interactions, and food and drug allergies.
I know this topic of PBM’s can be exhausting but it is just so important to expose their abusive and anti-competitive practices. We need to level the playing field. Vertically integrating our healthcare system is DANGEROUS. When one person controls the drug formularies, drug pricing, and steering patients to their own PBM affiliated pharmacies, you are no longer in control of your own healthcare. You are being told which medication you can take based on what they cover, how much that medication will be, and where you have to get it filled.
We are not only advocating for independent pharmacies, we’re also advocating for the well being and future of our patients healthcare and healthcare accessibility.
