We are grateful to have been selected as a LCFF grant recipient.

On April 16, 2026, the Laurens County Fair Foundation (LCFF) continued its tradition of giving back to Laurens County by awarding $106,503.00 in grants to local non-profit organizations. This year’s funding cycle brought in 25 requests seeking $234,033.82. These requests reflected the broad range of needs within Laurens County. The applications highlighted pressing challenges, including those with ongoing needs related to education, food insecurity, health and poverty alleviation.
LCFF carries forward the legacy of the Laurens County Fair Association (LCFA) and the Laurens Exchange Club—two organizations with deep roots in supporting agriculture and charitable causes in the county. The LCFA, incorporated on August 30, 1938, played a pivotal role in backing initiatives like local 4-H clubs, Dixie Youth Baseball, and The Judge Calvin Bridges Children’s Home.

Non-profit organizations serving Laurens County residents are encouraged to submit an application for 2027 grant funding distribution. The staff, patients, and volunteers of Good Shepherd would like to recognize Dr. H. Byron Parker and thank him for his many years of service to the clinic!

His gentle and caring spirit, along with his gifted expertise, always made him an invaluable part of our team. Although he retired from his own practice many years ago, he continued to maintain a commitment to volunteering with us several days a month. He has now chosen to retire fully and looks forward to devoting more time to his family and his garden.

The Good Shepherd will remain committed to its mission of delivering quality health care to its patients, and although replacing this provider will present a significant challenge, we are happy to celebrate his retirement with him!

Thank you, Dr. Parker, for everything you've meant to us over the years and for the lasting impact you've made for Good Shepherd!

We were saddened to learn of the recent passing of our original founder, Mr. Jim Roberts of Clinton, S.C.

Mr. Roberts developed the vision of Good Shepherd in 1994 and worked tirelessly with All Saints Episcopal Church and other local churches and organizations to bring it to reality. For over thirty years, thanks to his efforts, we have been able to provide quality medical care and medications to the uninsured citizens of Laurens County. Mr. Roberts’ ability to recognize and desire to meet the needs of those in hardship was evident throughout his life, and Laurens County is better for it.

We were fortunate this year to have been chosen for grant funding by Coach Dabo Swinney and Dabo's All In Team Foundation. The mission of this foundation is to raise awareness of critical education and health issues in order to change the lives of people across South Carolina.

In 2025, the foundation donated over $1.7 million to organizations throughout South Carolina. Our board chair, Mr. Joe Babb attended the event sponsored at Clemson and received the grant on our behalf.

Good Shepherd would like to thank the Laurens County Community Foundation for their continued support.

Funds from this year’s grant will allow us to continue to provide at home monitoring medical supplies to our diabetic and hypertensive patients.

The event was also a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the wonderful work being done by other nonprofits in our community.

Our patients at Good Shepherd were so thankful this holiday season to receive another huge shipment of food supplies from Grace Church of Simpsonville. Their continued support is such a blessing. This congregation has a true spirit of giving to others and we are grateful for their partnership.

Their contribution will make a meaningful difference in the lives of many individuals and families in our community. Thank you, Sons of the South for standing with us in service and compassion.
