Sometimes the healing journey doesn’t look anything like you expected. ❤️
I’ve debated whether to share this because, honestly, I don’t have all the answers yet.
After having my pacemaker implanted, my recovery has been anything but normal. What was supposed to be a straightforward procedure turned into a week in the hospital, a collapsed lung, and now… these strange movements and tics that I’ve never experienced before.
I’m again back in the hospital while doctors try to figure out exactly what is happening.
The movements have been difficult to explain. My mouth and neck will suddenly move or stretch, sometimes making a sound, and I have no control over it. It’s frightening, frustrating, and honestly exhausting.
Right now, the doctors believe this may be related to medication, but they aren’t certain yet. We’re still trying to piece everything together.
Not knowing is one of the hardest parts.
I share so much about natural wellness, healing, and taking care of ourselves here at Well Sage Collective. But this experience has reminded me that wellness also means knowing when you need help, asking questions, advocating for yourself, and allowing doctors to investigate when something isn’t right.
I’m still very much on my own healing journey.
I don’t know yet what is causing these movements. I don’t know how long they will last. And I definitely don’t have a neat little wellness answer to wrap this up with.
What I do know is that I’m taking it one day at a time. 🤍
I’m grateful for my Faith, my husband , kids, and dad, the people praying for me, checking on me, encouraging me, and reminding me that I don’t have to be strong every minute of every day.
So today, I’m choosing to be vulnerable instead.
If you’re going through something you don’t understand right now, please know you’re not alone.
Sometimes healing is messy.
Sometimes healing is scary.
Sometimes healing means admitting “I don’t know yet.”
And sometimes, that’s okay.
Please keep me in your prayers as we figure this out. 🙏🏻🤍
