One good second beats thirty bad ones…

Stay true to your form. If the position breaks down, back off. We’d rather you hold one good second thirty times than thirty seconds one time in a position your body can’t own yet.

A mirror or screen helps here. It lets you check in on your form and see where you actually are in space, not where you think you are.

Work to a range that feels comfortable, no added discomfort. Find the position you feel confident in. Good position, no compensating. That’s the rep that counts.

This is how we build it back, one honest rep at a time.

15 months is a long time to feel like a stranger in your own leg.

Brock came to us 15 months post-op. Still guarding. Long past every timeline anyone had given him. In his words, he was about as far down as he could go and did not think he was coming back.

Here is what we want athletes to understand about that…

The problem is usually not the graft, and it is not the calendar. It is that the connection between the brain and the muscle never got rebuilt, and that is not something time repairs on its own.

That connection is trainable. It does not care how many months have passed.

The work is hard. In fact, he said his first session was some of the hardest he has ever done, and that after session one he thought he had it… until session two arrived and the work became even more challenging.

Responses vary from person to person and cannot be guaranteed. They also reflect the complete rehabilitation process, not any single tool. But being late to this is not the same as being too late for it!

This is “The OG” workout. The simplest session we have, and still one of the best. A few assisted squats, a few knee touches, a wall squat, someone posterior chain work. On paper, nothing but basic.

But the moment you’re connected to the Volta X, basic is the last word you’d use. The movements stay simple. The work becomes some of the hardest you’ll do. That’s the point.

Here’s why it matters: after injury or surgery, the one thing we fight to get back is full flexion and extension at 100 percent, without compensation. The OG protects exactly that. Master it, and everything else sits on solid ground.

And we can do it anywhere. The road, the gym, or the sand. Trainer-guided every rep, so you’re not just moving, you’re moving well.

No gym. No excuses. Just you, the Volta X, and the work.

Here’s today’s session:

🎯 Session Focus: The OG builds control from the ground up, protecting full flexion and extension without compensation. Under direct current, these simple patterns become the hard, deliberate work that builds the strength, symmetry, and resilience your lower body needs to return to sport and keep performing.

As NFL training camps get underway, we’re reminded of one of our favorite ACL comeback stories, Grady Jarrett (Grady Jarrett)…

Recovery isn’t just about getting back. It’s about building beyond where you were before.

We’re excited to watch Grady compete again this season💪🏽⚡️🏈

After the 4th set, keep your mA running at max effective mA. Then perform...

Round 2 — 5 sets:

- 10 sec Iso Assisted Standing March, Single Leg Calf Raise (right leg)
- 10 sec rest
- 10 sec Iso Assisted Standing March, Single Leg Calf Raise (left leg)
- 10 sec rest

🎯 Session Focus

This session is named after Andy (amartin71774) a client who returned to the slopes just 5 months after his Achilles surgery, recovering from both an ACL tear and an Achilles post-op. “The Andy” was a staple of his Achilles program as he moved into the return to ski phase, and it’s built to prepare the calf, ankle, and knee for the kind of explosive, repeated loading that sport demands. Under direct current, these simple patterns become the hard, deliberate work that builds the strength, symmetry, and resilience your lower body needs to return to sport and keep performing.

With our Build Beyond program, we’re in it with you to the last set, providing movement cues throughout the entire training session, countdowns to the next exercise, and yes, pushing beyond our limitations in lock step with you.

Whether you’re returning to play, supplementing your 1 on 1 sessions with fully guided, Peloton-style sessions led by a trainer, or building beyond what you’ve built so far, we’ve got your back.

If you’re part of the Accelerate program, talk to your trainer to see if this program is a good fit based on where you are in your post-op recovery. If you aren’t and you’re interested in getting started, DM us BUILD to get going.

Months after surgery, numb spots around an incision can still remain. That does not necessarily mean sensation will never change or improve.

When we describe an area as “lacking electricity,” we are not saying the tissue has no electrical activity or that we are measuring a literal electrical level. It is a simple way of describing the reduced sensation or altered feedback the athlete is experiencing.

Our goal is to address the area through sensory input, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, movement, and training, with an emphasis on sensory awareness, muscle activation, range of motion, and overall function.

During this process, some clients report that the area begins to feel different. They may also report improved movement, greater comfort, or better function following a session.

Those responses vary from person to person and cannot be guaranteed. They also reflect the complete rehabilitation process, not electrical stimulation alone.

For athletes, the takeaway is that a numb area months or even years after surgery should not automatically be viewed as permanently disconnected.

For practitioners, it is a reminder to consider sensation and sensory feedback alongside muscle activation and movement quality.

The incision may be closed, but there may still be more function to develop!

And that’s the beauty of training with direct current and the Volta X. We don’t need complexity. The complexity is in the simplicity. A few sit stands, knee touches, calf raises, and trunk rotations, and suddenly they’re the hardest part of your day.

Turning the mA up is the hardest part of any session. It’s the moment your own brain tries to talk you out of it. We feel it too, embarrassing sounds and all.

But that is the work. We turn chaos into order, compensation into full range of motion without limitation.

Today’s charge point session:

🎯 Session Focus

This session builds control from the ground up, linking knee stability, calf and ankle strength, and trunk rotation into one connected chain. Under direct current, these simple patterns become the hard, deliberate work that builds the strength, symmetry, and resilience your lower body needs to return to sport and keep performing.

⚙️ Device Setup

Polarity: After round 1, switch (−) and (+)
Frequency: X-500
Timer: 20 min
Pad placement: Charge points found through your latest scan

📈 Recommended mA Progression for Round 1 and 2:

Set 1: 4/10 effort or 40 mA
Set 2: 6/10 effort or 50 mA
Set 3: 8/10 effort or 60 mA
Set 4: Max effective mA or 100
Set 5: Max effective mA or 100

5 sets:

30 sec of Sit Stands
30 sec of Knee Touches
30 sec of Calf Raises
30 sec of Trunk Rotations
30 sec of rest (60 sec rest before each max effective mA set)

Rest for 2-3 min. Repeat.

If you’re part of the Accelerate program, talk to your trainer to see if this program is a good fit based on where you are in your post-op recovery. If you aren’t and you’re interested in getting started, DM us BUILD to get going.

It’s not always a strength problem. Sometimes it’s a trust problem…

One of the most overlooked parts of recovery is trust. Most people assume that if a muscle is strong enough, the body should automatically be willing to use it. In reality, strength is only part of the equation. Your nervous system is constantly deciding whether it trusts your ability to absorb the force you’re asking it to.

If it doesn’t trust you yet, it’s not going to let you do it. That’s why you can’t come out of surgery and go right into a speed lunge and land it.

And trust isn’t built overnight. Just like any relationship, it develops through repeated positive experiences. You don’t ask someone to marry you on day one (or maybe some of you already did, no judgments 🤣). You build it over time.

Every successful rep, every controlled landing, every cut and jump that goes well gives your nervous system a little more evidence that it can handle the task in front of it.

Over time, what once felt threatening starts to feel normal. Movements become less guarded. Confidence returns. Eventually you stop thinking about the knee and start focusing on performance again.

Recovery is often viewed as a process of rebuilding tissue. In many cases, it’s also a process of rebuilding trust in what your body is capable of doing.

An ACL injury changes you. Build Beyond is how you take it back, and keep building long after.

Introducing Build Beyond⚡

This is for the athlete returning to sport. The one who wants to stay resilient and never go back. And honestly, anyone who wants to master the foundations that keep them strong.

A trainer coaches you through every session, your form, sets, reps, and pace, all called out as you go. Do it anywhere, anytime, on your schedule.

Everyone knows the basics, but almost no one masters them. That’s the difference.

These are the same foundational movements behind Accelerate ACL athlete results like:

✅ 100% strength symmetry as early as month 4
✅ 6-month benchmarks reached by month 3
