Even at the Renaissance Fair we can learn about beekeeping! Apparently the Norse “Vikings” were keeping bees and transporting their honey, wax, and other products as early as about the year 800. Aasveig. A sacred place has incredible displays and info!

Day 5,394 bedroom remodel. 🤣

I gave kiddo an ultimatum. If he wants to go to the https://sandpointrenfaire.com/ this weekend his room must be move-in ready by today. I’d say mission accomplished! Still have some details to finish, but we are getting our guest room back, and he gets to sleep in his own room tonight. Huzzah!

Busy, busy! What are you getting done today?

We were just reminiscing about previous places we’ve lived and the different fruits we were or were not able to grow there. In this home we had beautiful blueberries, boysenberries, oranges, pomegranates, persimmons, and avocados. The apricots and peaches never did well. Every place has its pros and cons.

It’s been 3 weeks since I started this batch of apple vinegar and it’s ready to be strained. Another month or so and it should be finished. Smells a bit boozy in my kitchen at this point. 😜

It’s garlic scape season! Each garlic only produces one scape, so they are a delicacy.

Some of our hives are ready for honey supers! In this pic, the honey supers are the white boxes. We like to use a different color on the boxes we use as supers because it’s easy to tell which boxes we plan to harvest.
