Your eyes do not deceive you, this Philodendron really is blushing! This variety is named ‘Pink Princess’. The rosy foliage is caused by a natural mutation wherein the leaves lack chlorophyll (the chemical responsible for green coloration in plants). Instead, it has a buildup of a chemical (anthocyanin) in its ‘skin’, causing the bubblegum color. Come adopt one today! 🌸

As routine watering began up on Neitzert’s Chrysanthemum hill today, I noticed the most adorable red dragonfly (an Autumn Meadowhawk) supervising my work. He didn’t say much, hope I did a good job. 😬

Did you know our very own, Kent Neitzert, was an active member of Branch County 4-H clubs, landing himself a role on the court in ‘66. Young Kent was then crowned king the following year in ‘67.
