Elevate Sports Medicine & Performance

Elevate Sports Medicine & Performance We’re officially Elevate Sports Medicine & Performance! Hi friend. I’m Cassandra.

Formerly Positively Balanced Athletic Therapy, we’ve elevated our approach with integrated athletic therapy, performance training, and recovery services — all under one roof. I’m an athletic trainer who is trained in soft tissue techniques for injury and prevention and treatment based in Tulsa and Skiatook, Oklahoma. I hold a Bachelors degree in Health Education and Exercise Science and a Masters

degree in Athletic Training. I help people overcome injury and pain, so they can continue the workouts and fitness classes they enjoy. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, you are not your diagnosis, pain, or injury and there is always a way to get back to what you love. Some of the things that I can help you with include

Safely pursuing fitness classes while addressing post-pregnancy related issues diastasis, prolapse, or incontinence. Creating personalized post-rehab or injury prevention programs, so you can troubleshoot hip, knee, low back, or shoulder pain while continuing the activities that you enjoy. Reducing joint pain and discomfort through specialized manual therapy techniques, including cupping, rock tape, and instrument assisted massage. Assessing your form and offering feedback, so you can squat, lunge, and deadlift without pain. When I’m not working with clients, I can be found playing with my son and husband outside, gardening, cooking, and teaching movement classes.

Many people are surprised to learn you can schedule directly with us.

Whether you've been dealing with pain for two weeks or two years...

Let's figure out what's going on together.

The sooner we assess it, the sooner we can create a game plan.

Yesterday, a client asked me an interesting question...

"What do I do if I have to sit at my work?"
You could see the look in her face.

We had just spent the past 45 minutes getting her out of pain and she was scared that when she went to work and sat down at her desk, the pain would return.
You see, she noticed the pain the most when she sat down at work and she automatically associated the 2 things: sitting = pain.

The brain is a powerful being. It protects you from so much without us even realizing it. But it can also get into over protective modes in order to protect the human. One of those ways is we try to figure out the exact cause of all of our pain and place fear around that item or situation.

Her's was sitting at work.

Sitting at work wasn't what caused her pain. Prolonged sitting might be what manifested the feeling of discomfort most easily, but it wasn't what caused it.

If we take the right steps, sitting doesn't stay the culprit and that association can begin to reduce.

We had a long talk about how sitting wasn't the devil. It's multi factorial. How much you sit, staying in one position, the variability of movement etc.....

She LOVED the feeling of a goood hot long yoga session and the feeling she get as she started to be in a pose. The problem was that she was feeling the "stretch" in her joints....the back of the knee, deep in the hip etc.....
It would feel great then, but be annoying, deep and achy for the rest of the day.

The "problem" wasn't the sitting.

It was the prolonged sitting for notes after intense stretching into the joints. The muscles were tight and the joints were "loose".

The culprit isn't always sitting. Sitting might be coined as "the new smoking".....but the smoking was just a response to something else. What lit the fire?

Hi Elevate Family!

We have some exciting things happening behind the scenes at Elevate Sports Medicine & Performance, and over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing 5 major announcements about what’s coming next!

First up: We’re getting a new system!

Beginning September 7th, Elevate will officially be transitioning to Jane App for our scheduling, patient accounts, documentation, and clinic management.

As Elevate continues to grow, we want the systems we use to grow with us. Jane gives each patient a more user-friendly individual account while also giving our team a more organized system behind the scenes. Ultimately, that means easier scheduling, better communication, and a smoother experience from the time you book your appointment through your care with us.

What does this mean for you?

Over the next several days, you may receive emails from Jane inviting you to create or access your new patient account. These emails are legitimate and are coming from our new system.

You may also notice that booking links, appointment reminders, forms, and other communications start looking a little different. Don’t worry—we’re still the same Elevate, just with some better tools!

As with any big software transition, there may be a few bumps while we get everything moved over and learn our new system. We appreciate your patience with us during the transition, and if you have any questions or trouble accessing your account, please reach out. We’re happy to help.

This is just Announcement #1 of 5, and we have some REALLY exciting things to share over the next few weeks about where Elevate is headed next.

Stay tuned. 👀

This morning, I ( Cassandra McCoy MAT, LAT, ATC ) took this photo. One class beginning, the other just ending.

It struck me how beautiful this space is. Yes the walls and ceilings are amazing. But. Women of all ages, kids, and more all sitting around. All here to move and add a dose of healthy lifting to their day. But also, creating such wonderful community. The Village Training Co. 8am Gals chatting it up with Elevate Sports Medicine & Performance 9 am gals. But so making a community and holding space for each other. Kids joining in on the workouts, mom's backing up other moms when someone is trying to be a silly kid so she can finish her set, laughs over whatever crazy was happening or just in general. Seeing each other's chaos but also finding a peace in it with others around them.

It's a beautiful thing. Thank you to each and everyone who helps fill this space with so much love, laughter and peace!
