Back in June of 2012 we officially became the IVEY House and now more than 2 years later, today we are officially licensed. Wow, the last 4 months have been stressful but worth it. I'd like to thank our first 20 employees for their patience with coming back and forth to the house for this and that to satisfy licensing requirements.

What happens now? Now getting in touch with CSBs to start recruiting. Meeting with families and LARs for transitioning. When individuals are selected then hold staffing's and updating ISPs.

The joy of getting the license will be short lived and the next round of work begins but we are excited about it and can't wait to get the show on the road.

Today we did very well on our inspection, except for a few minor details. We expect to have our temporary license in 1 weeks time. We will then immediately begin the transitioning process for the individuals that are appropriate for the Ivey House. Thanks for your support and we are excited! Ivey House OUT!

We are now less than a week from the big inspection. It's on Sep 29th. Never thought it would be so much work. Please wish us luck and for those who pray. Please send a note to the big guy in the sky. We are ready to get started!! Ivey House OUT!

We have officially moved to the 3rd phase of the licensing process which is an on-site review of our program which includes:

1. Presenting a Staffing schedule.
2. Submitting resumes of all staff.
3. Staff training in (CPR, First Aid, Behavior Intervention, Emergency Preparedness, Infection Control and Medication Management.
4. Completing Criminal Background checks
5. Creating Personnel Records

As you can see I will need resumes if you haven't submitted. I will also see if current SVTC training can suffice for staff training. If not, I may have to conduct training myself before we open. The Ivey House has been assigned a licensing specialist and she is none other than Angelica Howard who also used to work at SVTC.

Good news. DBHDS has responded to our license request and now almost finished with the 1st phase. Anyone who is interested in working for us needs to submit a resume. For those of you at SVTC please give me your resume before your last day. If you know of anyone who is interested in working for the IveyHouse please have them friend us at IveyHouse LTD. It's been a long time coming........As of today, EVB has approved us for the loans to start our group home buisness. We will be submitting the application for the license ASAP. Stay tuned. :)

Hello everyone,

As Southside Virginia Training Center prepares to close it's doors, we continue to work hard to obtain the funds we need so that we can apply for our license. The earliest we could be operational would be January of 2014. But realistically, we are looking at March. As information develops, we will post them here.
