Bob came to see us after suffering a severe traumatic brain injury. One that left him hospitalized, requiring brain surgery to place a shunt, and facing significant damage to his cerebellum.
The dizziness was relentless. He described it as a spinning chair he could never get off of. Standing for more than five minutes, turning his head, moving from lying to sitting to standing; all of it triggered waves so severe he was vomiting nearly every day. Walking had become a shuffle, each step cautious and uncertain as his brain struggled to find its footing.
Six weeks later, Bob is a different person.
He moves through his environment with ease. He turns his head freely. He goes from lying to standing without hesitation. His balance is back. And he doesn’t vomit anymore!
As Bob’s shirt says, “Brains are awesome…” You can recover and Bob is proof of that.
