People see the mood swings…

The irritability…

The canceled plans…

But they don’t see what’s underneath it all:

😔 The mental tug-of-war
😵‍💫 The exhaustion from pretending you’re okay
😭 The shame of feeling “too much”
🧠 The intrusive thoughts you never talk about

PMDD isn’t just what people see.

It’s everything they don’t.

& It’s important to remember that you’re not alone under the surface.

Co-parenting is challenging under the best of circumstances—those all-too-rare scenarios where former partners genuinely get along. In those situations, communication flows easily, schedules are flexible, and both parents maintain a shared focus on their children's well-being. But for many familie...

Is the fear of the unknown, lack of confidence in yourself, or confusion holding you back from letting go of the wrong job, wrong relationship or wrong situation? The only way we can open ourselves up to what is meant for us is to let go of what isn’t meant for us. We literally have to OPEN and free ourselves of the old to receive the new.

For those like myself, who will have people missing at the table either for the first time or for many occasions such as this, I send you love and peace in solidarity with a group we didn’t choose to join. I have been asked more times than I can count by friends and clients about how to cope. Like so much of life, it’s a day-to-day process. I find time softens things a bit but grief stays with us. It shows up at different times and in different situations. Today my grief is softened to the point that once again I commune with those I have lost over a stovetop. I cook their dishes, sloppily, bombarding them with questions in my head. For now, I occupy a space with them that is based on tradition. I’m thankful for that. I’m thankful to share their food with others tomorrow. To warm the bellies of others the way my mom warmed mine each time I sat at her table. Whether your grief is fresh or enduring like mine, I send you love and peace. Your loved ones are with you. Look for them in the trees, the dish you are preparing, or even the eyes of your children if you have them. Cry if you want or don’t. Grief and loss are as unique as our fingerprints, much like the love we receive. God Bless. PS…..this will soon be sausage cornbread dressing. A family favorite.

Find yourself feeling a little low when Fall turns to Winter, you aren't alone.

Find yourself feeling a little low when Fall turns to Winter, you aren't alone.

Raise your hand if you went into this past Summer full force. I don’t know about you, but I was like an animal let out of a cage. Finally, I could go and do what I wanted without the weight of the pandemic fears I had carried for the past two years. Looking back, I can see I was on a personal ques...
