You want to protect your kidneys.
But after a diagnosis, nutrition advice can feel confusing. You search online and find mixed messages.
Some say to limit potassium. So you think, “I should cut out potassium foods to help my kidneys.”
But research shows that is not always needed. Many people with CKD only need to limit potassium if their blood levels are high.
And many potassium-rich foods are also nutrient-dense foods that can support overall health.
I often work with clients who are avoiding these foods out of caution. Together, we use their lab results to guide a plan that fits their needs, and often that means safely adding more of these foods back in.
Food should not feel scary. It should support your health and still bring you joy.
You can thrive with CKD!
