Europe Day 11 and 12: Caen France and Normandy. Caen is a beautiful city rich in history and delicious food! One of our favorite hotels, some of the best food we had, we explored a castle and went to the D-Day museum.

We were on the beaches of Normandy and went to the US Military Cemetery on July 4th. It was a rainy day which felt fitting and we honored those who have fought for freedom and life for others in the world as we celebrated our own freedoms we get to enjoy being American.

Day 10: Rouen France! First capital of France, the original Notre Dame Cathedral, and where Joan or Arc was burned at the stake. Rouen also still has so many original wooden buildings! We enjoyed so many beautiful buildings, fun shopping, amazing food, history, and beautiful Cathedrals.

Europe Day 6: Breakfast in Munster and Exploring Rhein.

Breakfast in Europe is amazing! It is light, healthy, and so so yummy!! It has changed what I have been eating in the mornings.

Rhein, this is where my family is from. I got to see where my family, and my grandmother lived after the war. I Imagined her playing in the fields, walking the same paths we got to, and my family healing in a peaceful place after the war. I got to walk around the cute town, go into shops my family had been and stand in the cathedral that they worshiped in, took communion in, and helped to paint! It was healing and connecting for me to see where my family was from!

Europe Day 4: Cologne and Düsseldorf

We went to the chocolate factory in cologne abs it was amazing and yummy! We then went back through the Cologne Dom to get all the way through! It was beautiful. We grabbed a quick snack and then headed to Düsseldorf.

In Düsseldorf the girls went to a Harry Styles concert! Let’s just say German girls go way out! There were pieces of feather boas everywhere! The girls had an amazing time!

Nathanael and I went and got pizza and had a chill night! We could hear the concert from our room!

Europe Day 3: Burg Eltz and Cologne!

We woke up had an amazing breakfast in Frankfurt and then drove to Burg Eltz. This beautiful castle was hidden in the woods and was never captured! It has been in the same family for 34 generations!! It was beautiful!!

We then drove to Cologne and toured the dom and then had an amazing dinner on the riverwalk! The sights were amazing! Such a fun town!!

Europe Day 2: Frankfurt! We stayed close to the airport so we could rest! We got our rental car and headed to the hotel to rest!

9 years ago we had an exchange student and we finally got to see her in her country! It was so fun seeing her! We sure love Sarah!!

We walked around old town Frankfurt, toured Frankfurt Dom and then had an amazing meal!! We finished the day with an afternoon nap and a late night bite to eat!! We are so so tired! But are ready to start the road trip the following day!

Europe Day 1: Traveling!

When Daniel passed I knew by the time summer came we would all need an epic break! So we have been planning a summer trip to Europe! For the next three weeks we will be having a family road trip through Europe!

Hayden flew from Salt Lake and joined us in the airport and we all flew together! Addison is joining us later this week due to crummy passport issues!!

The fight was direct from Denver to Frankfurt and when we arrived we were soooo tired!
