As we wrap up our birthday month, we would like to give the biggest shout out to those that made it happen.

Our Village. Our Tribe. Our Crew.

Our brand IS people. Our brand is YOU. Don't get me wrong, we love our products. But we are a company of relationships, partnerships and kinship.

Our Village that extends from Teller County to Douglas County, you continue to support us, trust us and embrace us. Thank you for giving us the ability to serve.

Our Tribe supports us with all the personal connections with the brands. You know them as educators, manufacturer reps, or all the acronyms and abbreviated titles that we can never keep up with, lol😂

Our Crew. Those who, over the years, dedicated their time to opening the stores, pulling orders, attending sales meetings and trade shows, delivered orders, counseled in the stores or in salons, introduced you to the latest and greatest products, or simply offered a hug when times were tough. They celebrated your wins, offered a free color book, brought education to your salon, attended your wedding, attended your salon opening, took your color return or made that one little exception because of your loyalty.

We are forever grateful for each of these moments.

Location, location, location.

We found our perfect home for Colorado Springs and made the big move from 1719 N Academy to 1818 N Academy in August 2001. It wasn't too long before that beauty store fragrence filled the showroom and new memories began to grow.

After a couple years recuperating from the big move, we knew it was time to give our Castle Rock customers a store of their own...and so our Castle Rock location was born in May 2005.

She was our baby for many years until our customers begged for a sister store.

We were blessed with another addition to the State Beauty Supply family when our Parker location opened December 12, 2016.

Relocating a business and opening a new location is not for the faint of heart. It could not have happened without our incredible staff and our ever-so-patient customers. It truly takes a village.

And that very special village will be up next.....

Our State Beauty Supply story started far before 1999. My first job was working for my grandfather, Jack McInerney, when he owned it up until his passing in 1993. My primary job back then was filing 3-part invoices. But I was soon promoted to "stocker of a gazillion boxes of perms and cans of hairspray"😂.

I remember when Matrix launched Biolage in 1990. I remember Sherri, Kelly, Elaine, Carla and many others that worked so hard back in the day. I remember that distinct smell of monomer and perm solution that would hit you the second you walked through the front door.

I learned not too much had changed in 1999. The location changed. Some new product lines were added. But what a feeling to smell that old familiar smell of a beauty supply store.

Let's revisit our old magazine publications, also known as "SOTA" in its day. Acronym for State of the Art, they were LARGE😂...which was a good thing for us who can never find our readers!

Its our birthday anniversary month but the gifts go to you🥳

Ron and I remember our first day as new business owners like it was yesterday. OPI launched it's "Hollywood Collection", Shades EQ was priced at $3.50 a bottle, and shoppers were treated to a dot matrix printer paper receipt....that took about two minutes to print😂

Where were you 27 years ago and do you remember the store when it was by Cowboys?
