Hazel has severe sensory-processing issues due to a stroke in her parietal lobe. It affects all aspects of life, but we work tirelessly to help her overcome some of her aversions.

Hazel has regressed so much in feeding therapy that we've thrown out our current goals & teamed up w/ occupational therapy to just focus on texture therapy to help overcome the severe aversions. Unfortunately she aspirates on her vomit, but will gag & vomit when introduced to new textures or if enviromental temperatures inside or out are above 70⁰F. We HAVE to find a way to alleviate it. Shes on oxygen at night because her lungs havent had a chance to heal from the continual aspiration & if she gets an infection or cold on top of that this winter, we may have no choice but to go to the hospital. Its a slippery slope, so please pray for us as we continue to work tirelessly to Help Hazel Heal & try as hard as we can to keep her home ❤️‍🩹.

If yall are wondering why we've been radio silent, its because our house hunt has officially started but grandpa also officially went into hospice this week. Its been a very emotionally-charged time full of ups & downs, but we are trying to make the most of it. Prayers are much needed for all of the above. We greatly appreciate Hazels Heroes & are grateful for your patience as we work through a busy week ❤️
