Spent hours at the gym or walking around in sweaty socks? You could be at risk for athlete’s foot – one of the most common fungal infections!

If you already have it, don’t ignore it! Otherwise, the fungus might spread or get worse!

But don’t worry – most cases of athlete’s foot can be treated with over-the-counter antifungal creams.

At Ascending to Health, we believe something simple and radical:

Healthcare is a human right.

Not a reward for having the right insurance.
Not something earned through income, housing status, identity, paperwork, or privilege.
Not reserved for the easy-to-serve.

Every person deserves dignity. Every person deserves care.

We serve people where they are: on the street, in shelter, in recovery, in crisis, and in the long road back toward stability. We believe compassion should never come with conditions attached.

No matter your race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, background, disability, history, or housing status:
You deserve access to healthcare.
You deserve to be treated like a human being.
You deserve to matter.

Pride is not just celebration. It is visibility, advocacy, protection, and the continued fight for people to exist safely and authentically in their communities.

ATH stands proudly beside our LGBTQIA+ community and every person who has ever been told they were “too much,” “not enough,” or somehow unworthy of care.

We see you.
We serve you.
We stand with you.

Because health for all means all. 🌈🩺💙

Summer outreach season is here, and it is already getting hot, rough, and dangerous for our unhoused neighbors and patients.

Ascending to Health is preparing for park outreaches and pop-up medical clinics where we provide wound care, basic medical support, resource navigation, food, hydration, pet support referrals, and survival supplies for people living outside.

We are currently collecting donations of summer outreach items for patients and staff.

High-priority needs include:

Bottled water
Electrolyte drink mix packets
Sunscreen (travel sizes)
Cooling towels
Hats or caps
Sunglasses
New socks
Hygiene wipes/body wipes
Deodorant (travel sizes)
Toothbrushes and toothpaste
Chapstick/lip balm
Menstrual Period supplies
Snack items/granola bars
Jerky/Slim Jim type snacks
Chips/crackers
Fruit cups/applesauce cups/pouches
Hot dog and hamburger buns
Hot dogs, burgers, chili ingredients, or grocery gift cards
Ice or cooler donations
Pop-up tents, tables, or folding chairs
Trash bags
Staff/volunteer T-shirts or sponsorship for shirts

Medical and wound care supplies are also deeply appreciated, especially:

Nitrile gloves (Large and Medium preferred but all sizes welcome)
Gauze pads
ABD pads
Rolled gauze/Kerlix
Coban/self-adherent wrap
Medical tape
Saline wound wash
Bandages
Antibiotic ointment (single packs)
Hand sanitizer

Summer heat is not just uncomfortable for people living outside. It can become dangerous quickly, especially for people with wounds, chronic illness, mobility issues, substance use concerns, pets, or no safe place to cool down.

Every case of water, box of snacks, pack of socks, or donated supply helps us bring practical care directly to people where they are.

If you or your business, church, team, or organization would like to donate, sponsor supplies, or help with an upcoming outreach, please reach out.

Care goes where people are and so do we.

Please contact Codi at (719-)635-7639 for donation coordination

Safe Parking Initiative Update

Quick update for those following the Safe Parking Initiative.

One potential host site withdrew after the February 24 community session due to concerns about political pressure surrounding the program. The decision was not related to the program itself.

Since then, two additional sites have been identified and vetted and are currently awaiting leadership approval. Once those decisions are made, we will move into site planning and begin preparing the necessary proposals and permits to launch the pilot.

The model we are building is designed for rapid deployment, oversight, and scalability. A structured alternative to people being scattered throughout neighborhoods with no monitoring, services, or safety measures.

We see the reality every day: many people living in vehicles got there after medical crises, hospital stays, or sudden housing loss. Safe parking is not the final solution to homelessness, but it is a practical step that prevents things from getting worse while people work toward stability and housing.

More updates to come as approvals move forward.
