Chronic pain can cause depression and depression in turn worsens your pain. If you think it is just in your mind, you’re wrong. Because depression increases your pain making you more sensitive. And your pain that remained uncured for a long time can cause depression.
You may need separate treatments for each condition so please consult a doctor. We suggest having some of the following to control both: exercise, yoga, or meditation, and having at least 8 hours of sleep.

Vertiflex is a procedure for patients suffering from mild to moderate spinal stenosis. Vertiflex is a minimally invasive procedure for individuals with spinal stenosis, diagnosed after an MRI. This procedure is used to treat symptoms associated with spinal stenosis, or narrowing of the spinal canal, and can help patients avoid major spinal surgery.

This FDA-approved procedure uses a small implant to create space for nerves of the back. This indirect spine decompression procedure reduces or resolves pain for 90% of patients.

Vertiflex is an excellent alternative to major surgery for lumbar spinal stenosis. For patients who are not healthy enough for major surgery, Vertiflex is a great choice.

Spinal stenosis is caused by normal aging changes in the spine. Lumbar spinal stenosis occurs in the lower back and can trigger leg pain, numbness and tingling when bones or discs start to pinch nerves.

The pain, tingling, and numbness that you feel in your hand and wrist may be a Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. But whether you are diagnosed or not, your job may put you at risk and contribute to developing the disease. Some work that involves repetitive tasks, forceful or prolonged use of hand and wrist, uncomfortable arm positions while doing tasks, and vibration might lead you to it.
Take these steps to prevent Carpal Tunnel Syndrome at work:

Avoid using excessive force.
Keep your wrist as straight as possible and refrain from frequent bending.
Improve your workstation ergonomically.
Take a break and do stretches or exercises.
Wear a wrist brace for extra support.

Thinking of considering a back brace due to back pain? Using a back brace can reduce your lower back pain and muscle tension. It can also improve your posture and help you during daily activities. Given that it provides a healthy healing environment for spinal structures, it is surely a good choice. But before considering using one, consultation with a doctor is highly recommended. A doctor’s assessment will give you a clearer mind if a back brace can help you with your pain, what type should you wear, and how it can be worn.

Platelets play a major role in our body by forming clots that repair any damages inside our body. With Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy, we will be using your own platelets to create a more concentrated one to help your body heal. We will then inject your conditioned platelets into the area where you feel the pain. Those platelets will then release your own growth factors to recover the tissue. It became an efficient alternative to treat any abnormalities in tendons like in tennis elbow, ankle tendonitis, and arthritis. It’s a process wherein your own body system will be used for healing. Amazing, right?

Feel free to book an appointment and we will see if this method is appropriate for you.

Are you dealing with chronic health issues like arthritis, diabetes and heart problems? Did you know that it correlates to inflammation and the food you take?

Your meal plan should contain foods that are natural antioxidants and help reduce inflammation. Some examples are:

1. Fiber-enriched foods like oatmeal, beans, whole grains, avocados, nuts.
2. Fruits and vegetables that are high in color like berries, broccoli, tomatoes, oranges.
3. Herbs and spices like ginger, basil, turmeric that replace salt and sugar.
4. Heart friendly or foods that are rich in omega 3 like salmon, sardines, and tuna.

Having a healthy balanced diet and regular appointments with your doctor could help combat any diseases.

Our clinic is open Mondays to Fridays to assist you with any health concerns you are dealing with.

A Functional Restoration Program (FRP) incorporates pain management, pain psychology, and physical therapy to help workman’s compensation patients have a new tool to help with the pain. Candidates are those who have tried conservative options including TENS, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, injections, spinal cord stimulators, intrathecal pain pumps, and surgery. Once identified, a patient will undergo a thorough evaluation. Upon completion of the evaluation and approval, the candidate will be enrolled in the program. Goals for some patients may be to discontinue medications, regain strength, conditioning, and flexibility, overcome fear and anxiety due to pain and potentially return to work. If you are interested in the program or know someone who may be interested, please ask your provider for more detail.

Do you want to experience pain relief for up to 2 years?

Radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive procedure that destroys the nerve fibers carrying pain signals to the brain. It can provide lasting relief for people with chronic pain, especially in the lower back, neck, and arthritic joints. If you suffer recurrent pain and you’ve experienced good relief with a nerve block injection, you may be a candidate for radiofrequency ablation.

Here at Inland Pain Medicine, we have a medical procedure called Radiofrequency Ablation or Rhizotomy. It is a non-surgical proceeding that uses heat to reduce or stop the transfer of pain. The waves target the nerve that causes the pain and hinders the passage going to the brain.

Commonly used to treat chronic pain like arthritis and other nerve pains, the effect will last from 9 months up to 2 years.

Set up your appointment today with Inland Pain Medicine (909-887-2991). We accept most insurance policies.

Often times, people experiencing chronic pain often express the feeling of lack of control over their pain and the stress it induces. Stress has a way of impacting our daily lives and activities as well as our mood so it is important that we learn to manage our stress. It has been proven that simple relaxation techniques can help our body’s response to pain and bring a feeling a calm.

Relaxation can:
Help reduce the feelings of stress
Help us regain a feeling of control
Help decrease muscle tension, aches and pains. Help our body release it’s own natural painkillers, endorphins.
Try this, take one good deep breath then continue taking slow and deep breaths, let your shoulders relax and droop all the way down to your hands. Visualize a peaceful place, smell or sound and stay focused on that for a few minutes. Just like that you have taken your first steps to relaxation.
