Doctors aren’t the problem. The system Is.
Most healthcare providers genuinely want to help.
The problem is that many are working within a system that wasn’t designed to spend hours uncovering the WHY behind every symptom.
The issue?
Short appointments.
Heavy administrative demands.
A model that often prioritizes identifying and managing disease over looking at the bigger picture.
So sometimes the conversation ends with:
“It’s just stress.”
“That’s part of getting older.”
“Your labs are normal.”
And yet… you still don’t feel like yourself.
You’re exhausted.
You’re gaining weight despite doing “everything right.”
Your digestion is off.
You’re dealing with brain fog, mood changes, or symptoms that seem to have no clear explanation.
That doesn’t necessarily mean your doctor is wrong.
It may mean there’s simply more to the story.
Different healthcare approaches serve different purposes. And sometimes, the most valuable next question isn’t just “What can we do about this symptom?”
It’s:
“Why is this happening in the first place?”
Your symptoms can be important information—not something you should automatically dismiss or learn to live with.
Looking at the bigger picture may mean considering hormones, nutrition, sleep, stress, metabolic health, gut health, inflammation, medications, lifestyle, and other factors that can influence how you feel.
You deserve to be heard.
You deserve to ask questions.
And you deserve a healthcare conversation that looks at the whole picture.
Your symptoms are real. Your experience matters. And “normal” doesn’t always mean optimal.
